The front door burst open. I spun around—Jackson was staggering inside, and right behind him... a girl. I quickly toldAdam his friend had arrived and hung up. Then I rushed to catch Jackson by the waist.
"Hey, sis... did the jerk leave already?" he slurred, still searching for Luke. Even drunk, he couldn't stop insulting him.
"Yes, Jackson. He left right after you did," I said, forcing calm into my voice. I tried to get a better look at the girl still standing by the door.
"Are you Amber?" she asked confidently as she walked in. She was blonde, slender, with honey-colored eyes that glowed even against the storm outside.
"Nice to meet you," I said, stunned.
"I'm Alisa. I'm your brother's girlfriend."
