We sat there as my parents glared at us, and rightfully so. They had caught us red-handed, and we had no way to defend ourselves. Anthony, Rebeca, María, and Alisa had rushed home the second they saw my parents arrive.Adam stayed with us because they asked him to, though it was obvious he'd rather escape the fury of the Weys too.
"You've disappointed me, all three of you," my mother began, her voice sharp. When Grace Weys spoke, she never kept it short. "Look around you—this place looks like a rat's nest. Empty beer cans everywhere, shoe prints on the furniture, and I don't even want to imagine what the upstairs looks like."
