Chapter 15

865 Words
“How many are they?” Eric asked. “500 boss.” Luck replied. Eric nodded his head. “This will do, divide them amongst each district,” Eric said. “Yes, boss,” Luck said and left, but later came back. “Boss, there's news from the Marine water works,” he said. “Go on,” Eric said. “As suspected, the cops were notified, and they came in shortly after you left,” Luck said. Eric smirks, his thoughts going back. “They started the counting,” Luck said. Eric looked up. “Tell them to drive the trains to the headquarters, everything that has my goods with it, I know the police will be on their way now. I will meet them there,” Eric said. “Luck, leave a parting gift for them. I'm sure they will like it. Get to work now,” Eric said. A few minutes later, the train that had all of his goods left for the headquarters, leaving empty trains behind and a few men whom Eric chose were left behind as sacrificial lambs for the police. That was their plan. And everything went as planned. Eric was brought back from his deep thought when Luck posted the video of what happened in the marine waterworks. —------ “Check around, there must be something, a surveillance camera anywhere,” Avery said. She was getting frustrated with all of this, she really needed to go home and change into something, or she would have to sleep in company, her waist ached really badly, and she needed to do something about it else they would become suspicious. Speaking of them, she took out her phone to check if there were any calls, but there were none. She sighs, she needs to be done. “There is no trace, ma'am,” a huge voice said behind her. “Who gave the tip off?” She asked, looking around. “A few months ago, we found traces of trains moving back into the states. I had to do some research and I found out that they belonged to Andrew Richardson. I'd been following up with the train till it got here, just didn't believe it would be stacked with bombs and other things.” Eugene sighs, clearly frustrated. “So no surveillance camera shows anything of how the train got here in the first place?” Avery asked. “What happened to the surveillance cameras?” “It turns out that they weren't connected,” the other guy said. “Was it on?” she asked. “It wasn't on. I guess it was purposely disconnected,” he said again. “Ma'am, I think there's something you need to see.” Some shouted. Avery jogged towards him and found him kneeling on the ground and touching the wet sand. “These prints seem new, seem like they left a few hours ago, and with the look of it, ma'am I think-” “We got the wrong train,” Avery replied. “Damn it!, so no train was caught on camera? Not even the ones that left?” “On looking close, the camera seems bad, and yeah, no train was caught on it. I guess we've missed this one too,” the young lad said. Avery sighs. “That's okay for tonight, everyone go home and rest .... Those of you that were injured should go to the hospital. I will contact the HQ to come get the remaining bodies. They died a hero,” she said, and left while the others followed behind. —-------- “Oh, look what the fly dragged in. Ah, ah, ah,” a deep cold voice was heard in the dark. Eric walked majestically with his face mask on towards the empty chair and sat down. “What do you want?” he asked coldly. Everywhere dropped immediately, the temperature of the place dropped, the chilling of his voice made the whole place silent. “You know what I want, Richardson,” the older man said, shining his brown tobacco teeth. “Cut to the chase and tell me why you called me here. I have other things to do with my time,” Eric said. “Other things, like crawling into the arms of your miserable wife,” the other voice said and burst out laughing. “I can see you are not ready,” Eric was about to stand up when the older man said. “Richardson, you already know what I want, but I won't hesitate to tell you, step down from being the leader of the Black Heart Mafia ring and hand over the Cardosa files to me,” he said, smiling. Eric smirk. “You know that's impossible,” Eric said, looking at him. “Of course not. Nothing is impossible before you, Richardson. Step down and, well, I will stop sending my people to you, until then, ciao,” the other man said. Eric stood up and adjusted his suit. “Next time don't call me for such stupid things, and tell your men to stop following me.” He said and left the warehouse.
