The two cars came in at the same time and the two people got down from the cars at the same time, each looking at themselves.
Eric looked at Luck.
“You can go home now, get my schedule ready for tomorrow,” he said. Luck nodded and left.
Eric looks at Avery and goes inside the house.
Avery sighs and goes straight inside and sits on the chair. She sighs again. Today is the worst of all days. She heard footsteps behind her, she quickly hid her injured hand, she turned and looked and saw Eric behind her hands in his pocket looking as cold as ever.
“What do you think the time is?” He asked. Avery looked at her wristwatch
“Oh Goodness!” She almost screamed.
“It's past 12 midnight and which normal lady will be coming home by this time, a married woman at that?” Eric asked coldly.
“Says the same man that came at the exact same time I came, look Eric, I'm not in for you today, I'm tired, and I need to rest,” she said.
“Hmm, so even after you get married, you still can't stop seeing your lover?” Eric said. He rubbed his head. “Are you that loose and desperate for a man?” He asked.
“Watch your mouth, Eric, there are limits to things I tolerate and there are others I don't,” she says and stands up, but the pain in her waist hit her sharply, she groaned.
“Are you okay?” Eric asked, concerned.
Avery looked at him and scoffed, picked up her bag and managed to go upstairs.
She really needs to do something about her waist.
Eric looks at her as she climbs up. There was something wrong with her, he shook his head and went to the kitchen.
Why did he call her loose? And what's any business of his, if she sees someone else? Oh, he knows, his reputation will be at stake if people find out. He needed to set the records straight for her in the morning. But he shouldn't have called her loose. He gulped the water instantly, there is something wrong with his head. Ever since he knew himself, he has been using his head, and now it seems his head is going against him, his heart is saying to apologize. But his head is saying she deserves it. He will, of course, follow the head.

“Hmmmm,” Avery groans hard as she massages her waist, which is turning purple. “Ughhhhh, Richardson, pray I don't catch you, I will make sure to kill you first before handing you over to the FBI.” She looks at herself in the mirror and sigh, she knows that being a secret agent won't be all bed of roses, but she didn't expect this one.
She brings out the ointment from the first aid pack and continues massaging her waist. Her phone rang. She immediately picks it up.
“Yes hello?”
“I heard what happened today. A lot of people died. How are you?” Amy's voice rang out.
“Surviving Amy, uhhh!” She presses the swollen part.
“Are you okay girl? You are not hurt, are you?”
“Just a swollen waist, nothing more,” Avery said.
“Woah, that's huge, Mr MacMillies won't be able to perform any act today,” Amy said as laughter could be heard in her voice.
“Amy? C'mon”
“Sorry, sorry, why don't you go to the hospital tomorrow to get yourself checked?” Amy said.
“I planned on doing so,” Avery said.
“Okay girl, I will call you tomorrow, take care of yourself,” Amy said.
“Yeah, I will, thank you,” she ended the call. She bandages her injured palm and massages it gently. Then keeps the first aid back
She goes to her room and sits gently on the bed. She opens her email to check for any messages.
When she found an invitation that Kimberly sent, it was a dinner party organized by the Waltz family group.
She knows why she was invited. Her father had rejected it and had told Kimberly to send it to her. And the Waltz family also have been wanting the Lincoln and Waltz company to merge, but she has refused, even though her father finds it a great idea. She knows it will be bad luck for her company, considering the reputation of the Waltz family, and she has also heard that Mr Waltz's eldest son has been into some illegal business, so going to the party would be a better way to expose everything. Although it's not part of her case, she's an Officer of the law and anything that is against the law should be brought out. She hopes her waist will allow her to go.
*************
Eric comes out of the room dressed up for work at the same time. Avery also comes out too looking fresh and also dressed up for work. Eric walks past her, trying not to acknowledge her presence. He went downstairs and was about to open the front door when he heard someone clearing their throat behind him.
“Off early this morning, don't you guys eat breakfast in this house?” Charles MacMillies asks.
“Good morning dad, I didn't know you were awake,” Eric said.
“Good thing I'm awake. Come on let's eat breakfast as one big family,” Charles said.
“Dad, I would love that very much, but I'm late for work, so we can have dinner,” Eric said.
“Morning dad,” Marcy said, “morning sister-in-law.”
Avery smiles at her.
“Morning father,” she said.
“Avery my darling, are you also off to work?” Charles asked.
“Yes, father and I will be back soon. I just need to check something in the office,” Avery said and walked out, bumping into Eric.
She gets to her car, enters and drives off. She needs to get to the hospital as soon as possible, her waist is killing her.
She got to the hospital and checked in with the doctor.
“Miss, what happened to you?” The doctor said, seeing her bandaged palm.
She didn't go to the family hospital because she knew they would report to her father.
“Long story, I need my waist checked.”
“What happened to your waist, it's swollen, what happened?”
“Longer story, just check me.”

“Boss the Waltz are holding a party, and you are invited,” Luck said.
“The waltz family?”
“Yes boss”
“I wonder what they want now,” Eric said.
“Where is the paperwork for the reconstruction company?” Eric asked.
“It's in my office, I will bring it down now,” Luck says and walks out.
Eric focused on his laptop.
“Let me in now! Do you know who I am? I will make sure you lose your job.” A voice was heard outside the door.
Eric sighs, the door opens.
“Boss, there's -”
“Eric baby!” A very beautiful young girl rushed in, looking sophisticated as ever, she rushed to Eric's seat, who looked at her coldly.
“Anastasia, what do you want?” Eric asked.
“Baby, I missed you, we haven't seen each other for a very long time, don't you miss me?” She asked, pouting, holding his hand.
Eric briskly remove her hands
“You can see that I'm busy, Luck, see her off,” he said and went back to his business.
“Baby-”
“Miss, the door,” luck said, gently dragging her towards it.
Eric sighs and picks up the telecom
“I didn't want to see that lady here whenever I'm busy,” he said, dropping the phone and going back to work.
Luck came back and dropped the paperwork on the
table.
“Boss, should I arrange tonight's dinner party?” he asked.
“I'm not sure if I will attend, but I will let you know,” Eric said, not looking at him.
