First Chapter - Fate: “Oh s**t, it’s almost time, I hope I can reach the administration office on time and am not late, please God help me” Mayra was tensed that she will not be able to deposit her application letter as a trainee in the multi-national company called Evans LTD. Today is the closing date. She was running in the front gate of the University and almost run into a Lamborghini Veneno Roadster car and her application envelop fell along with her cover letter. She did not notice that she lost her application letter. And she had filled two application letters in case one goes missing and seems she did it right. What Mayra did not notice was that there were one pair of eyes staring at her from head to toe from the car backseat window. Mayra turned to leave then hurried inside the University administration building. Inside the backseat of the car, sat Ian Evans, who for the first time checked out a girl from head to toe. He asked his secretary James, “go down and help that girl.” Someone from the car stepped outside, picked the envelop and letter, called her but she did not hear as her mind was preoccupied. Mayra could not submit her trainee application letter in the administration office as it was already closed. The clerk told Mayra, “I am sorry, the deadline is closed, you are 5 minutes late, the secretary of Evans LTD just left with the application letters from here.” “The secretary just left?” “Yes, but there are still some companies you can apply for your training.” “Thank you,” disheartened, Mayra left from there to find a peaceful place to sit. “Mayra, Mayra, Mayra” panted Emily while running. She reached where Mayra was sitting on a bench, immersed in her world while writing in her diary. She shouted, “Oh Mayra, finally, I have been looking for you everywhere around the University for about thirty minutes!” Emily sat beside her. “What’s the matter Em?” asked Mayra, concerned. “Remember I told you I have heard from the gossip girls that a new boy from a wealthy family will join this university and will be completing his final year here. And he is also super handsome and hot.” Said Emily. “Oh yeah, I remembered!” sounded Mayra, uninterested in gossips. “And do you remember you told me your dad had fixed your marriage with a boy from some wealthy family” “Yes, I do, Emily!” This has piqued Mayra’s interest. “So you will be surprised if I tell you that your would-be-husband will join our Oxford University” “What?” what are you talking about Emi?” yelled Mayra. “I can’t understand what you are trying to tell me.” Mayra gave Emily a puzzled look. “Okay, okay, listened, I will tell you clearly, the new boy who will join the university today is the same boy whom your father had chosen for you to get married.” “I can’t believe it, they have gone so far, first they forced me into agreeing to get married with some spoiled brat, and now in order to not think of running away and to watch over me, they have sent that i***t to the university,” a blaze of indignation burned furiously in her eyes. “This is going too far; I have to think of a way to run Emi, I can’t just get married to anybody like this without finishing my final year, start my career, get a job and forget about love, I don’t even know that guy, how can I accept him?” “I will think of a way Mayra, please calm down and don’t worry about these things and concentrate on your project work, this is a big shot for you,” said Emily. “You know that if it’s a success, then you will be sent as an intern in a multi-national company, this is a great opportunity for you.” “I know Emi and that’s why I can’t afford to give up on my dreams just for getting married to a stranger, please help me.” She blinked her eyes. “Of course, I will help you, what are best friends for?” Mayra smiled when she heard Emily’s reply. She knows she can count only on EMILY.
