“We should divorce Arthur,” Emily said.
Arthur looked at her with a blank expression. He had no idea what to reply to that. He knew he has to divorce Emily if he wants to pursue a relationship with Ethan but the words coming from Emily had his tongue tied.
“We should really get a divorce, Arthur. You don’t love me-“
He cut her words short, “I love you Emily. Just not the way you want me to,” he moved forward and got on his knees in front of Emily.
She no longer controlled her tears. She let it flow down her face. She heard Arthur say that he loves her not just the way she wants him to. That was true, Arthur had always made sure she felt loved and cared for. Never once did he treat her badly. He had always given respect to her and held her high as a wife.
