His golden eyes followed my every move, I breathed deeply moving to the corner of the room, it’s all right, I thought, I looked around, the windows were too small to constitute a safe escape route, the door was closed, okay, it’s not okay. His body was snappy, I could see the muscles twitching from under the shirt left open to the sternum, the long, tapered fingers clenched into the palm and the veins swelling on his forearms, a shiver struck me, Fear? Adrenaline? No, I was excited to see those veins pumping blood and defining the path of the arms' muscles, a part of me was already squealing "Daddy" in my head. This is very bad. My name is Kara and how did I end up in this situation? Well, it’s a long story, but let’s start from the beginning. It was a stormy night, the lightning had blown my light and I had gone to the basement to turn the generator back on, holding the torch of the phone in my hand I triggered the lever and finally the light deigned to return.   I had to finish proofreading a book at the PC or my boss would want my head on a silver platter. I was back in the kitchen and waiting for my computer to turn back on. Leaving aside the hysterical screams of my boss, I liked the work of publisher quite a lot, taken for granted for a bookworm like me, you will say, but believe me it was a hard job and full of grammatical snares. When finally the screen returned the text of the book I was correcting, another flash ripped the sky and the screen became completely black : -No, no, no, no! - I yelled at the device frustrated, the PC gave signs of life and a blue page opened with error, the lightnings followed each other, They were the only ones to light the room beyond the computer screen that kept reporting errors. A thunder startled me by making me cling to the computer and losing my balance, I fell with the device in my hand while another flash illuminated the dark room.   The alarm clock pierced my ears, what time was it? I settled on the bed stunned… I spent a few minutes understanding what was around me. Where I am? That was not my room, the bed was half square with lilac blankets, the room was decorated in that shade, with white walls and purple accessories and note lilac, some lights were hanging on the wall that formed a frame around some pictures of people that I had never seen in my life. I rushed  out of bed. What’s going on? Where am I? Whose room is this? I asked myself in panic looking around me, the desk in front of the bed had a bag on it. Wait, where’s my computer? What the f**k is going on? -Clarissa Summers! Wake up, do you want to be late on the first day of your senior year? - shouted a male voice from outside the door followed by a persistent knock. Clarissa Summers? But it’s the name of the protagonist of the book I’m correcting. I held my breath, can’t be I ran out the door, ignoring the middle-aged man in front of me and after spotting the bathroom I locked myself in. In the mirror I saw a girl with long wavy brown hair, eyes of the same color and a tiny face and rather full lips. Okay, don’t panic, don’t panic, you just got into the book, Harry Potter style in Tom Riddle’s diary. I took deep breaths, decided to wash my face to avoid a panic attack, another deep breath. -Okay, think of it as a science-fiction  plot, you were at home, you were working, there was bad weather, your pc went crazy, you fell with the last one in your hand, the storm had something to do with it? I don’t know, created a portal between different realities and got you into the book? Who am I now Doctor Strange? - I said, continuing to look in the mirror, finding a figure totally different from the one I was used to, I breathed again, how do you go back? They knocked again at the door, again the male voice: -I don’t want to rush you, but you’ll be late! - Should I finish the story? Wait for a new storm? I looked in the mirror again and decided to move to take a shower. This is so f****d up. When I found myself in the kitchen in front of a man I’d read about, I realized that, Yes it was a s**t situation. Okay, let’s recap, the gentleman in the plaid shirt and the washed-up jeans was Brett Summers, Clarissa’s father and Detective at Chicago Crime, They had just moved from Seattle and Clara was pretty upset about it since it was her senior year and she had to leave all her friends. I have to go back to high school. It was my only thought, a 28-year-old woman stuck in the body of an 18-year-old. Wow, that is so happy. You get back to bullying monkeys and spooked cheerleaders, raging hormones and discounted s*x jokes. Pure happiness, you know. Brett left her in front of the building with a sad smile, perhaps thinking Clara should really hate him. We want to talk about me instead, Kara Green, in a parallel universe, in high school. I want to go back! The sound of the bell scared me and I forced myself into that damn school. Yay, be the new girl in class! I had to finish correcting this damn story! Now I don’t know how it will go because I only read the introduction! I went to my locker after asking for directions and times in the office. A noise turned me away from my self-pity. A tall, dark-haired guy, rather muscular, had pushed another guy a little smaller in size against the locker, his face was rather aggressive, a cheeky grin on his mouth. Behind him was a diverse group of people, a girl who twisted her hair between her fingers and a tall boy with his back turned, who had an arm around the girl. -Give me your money! - had shouted the i***t number 1 at the boy against the locker, that trembled and stuttered something creating laughter among the bunch of idiots. - I didn’t hear you, faggot, what did you say? - Cretin number one said it again. The poor guy at the locker looked down in shame. Oh no, that’s enough. -Hey! - I started to march -Leave it now! - I said pushing him away Cretin number 1 from the locker boy. Douche number one, looked down on myself. -We got a hero here, huh, who are you, baby? – he said to me and approaching me thinking to intimidate me, my body moved alone, in a moment I put to the ground Cretin number 1, the lessons of Karate had not gone to waste, all those who had gathered around trembled, I squeezed the  hold on the arm. -Now you’re gonna listen to me and you’re gonna listen to me well, we know it’s hard for you, believe me, you woke up one morning and you found out you got a hard-on watching the guys in the locker room. You probably have a homophobic father and your mother didn’t give you enough attention as a kid and all that crap, but believe me, reiterating your masculinity with these attitudes is not constructive. Why don’t you just admit that you would love to ride this guy’s p***s while you moan like a little b***h? hmm? Maybe if you ask him out nicely, he might even buy you a "My Little Princess" collar.- I lifted myself from the ground looking at Cretin number 1, which we will now call little princess, remain still when the boy clinging to the  girl approached me. I pointed my eyes at the golden ones of him and gave him an impertinent smile. -Oh, now there’s the part where you teach me a lesson. - I pulled out a necklace that I was wearing around my neck and attached at it as a pendant there was the alarm device that Brett had given Clara, I made it swing before his eyes, the beauty of having an Invastigator as a father. -You see you can’t, I press this and in a jiffy the police are here, and then who will explain to the cops what happened, huh? - I repeated looking the boy in the eye and challenged him by raising my eyebrow. Douche number 2 left the grip on the girl and helped the little princess to get up and took him away without taking his eyes off me, I stayed still and kept eye contact with him until he disappeared around the corner. -There is nothing to see, you have enjoyed the show without intervening as cowards you are, now you can go to class. - I told the crowd gathered around us and they dispersed head down. You hypocrites. I turned to the locker guy, and he was looking at me, I smiled at him. -I am Ka… um Clara, what’s your name? - The boy remained silent for a while, I took the opportunity to look at him better, he had amber skin, an angular face, almond-shaped eyes with a narrow cut, a straight nose and reddish-colored lips, he was tall, with medium-long hair worn falling on his eyes, His chest was not muscular but compensated by broad shoulders and strong arms. -Kris- finally a hoarse voice answered, I noticed only at that moment the bracelet with the rainbow flag that he wore on his wrist. -So the little princess  does often this trick to get your attention? Or is it his way of asking you out? - I asked while taking the books I had dropped to the ground to rescue Kris. That guy looked at me again. -I hope you know who you provoked. - he said with a veil of anxiety in his voice. I watched the class schedule, turned to him, blinked. I’m in a story I don’t know, and now I have to live in this reality until I find a way out and I just made enemies, so great Kara keep going like that. -Of course you don’t know, you’re new. - he murmured in a panic, shaking his head and kept looking at me shocked. -Let me guess, he’s the son of the boss of some mob gang, and whose I landed  on the ground was his right-hand man or something. - I said rolling my eyes, perhaps I had read too many books : -Not only that, he is part of a shape-shifter gang, The Order of the Dragon… - I stopped him with one hand, I turned to look at him: -Shape-shifter? That thing with Alpha , Beta, Omega and s**t? – Kris nodded and clenched his lips when I keep walking disconsolate entering the assigned class, he stopped at the threshold: -And I challenged The Alpha, right? - Kris nodded again, I sighed again, what a cliché ,I thought and sat down at the counter and watched my new friend give me a worried look and then leave.  I haven’t read too many books, the plot is that of a teenage novel, I’m expecting sculpted abs, scenes of jealousy, possessive attitude and all those useless things that little girls want to hear from a brainless pumped-out pitcher. If I stay away from the troubled troglodyte’s past, I can find a way to go back and leave the story untouched.
