Chapter 2 Home

Walking out to the waiting area where my parents were waiting for us. They went straight for the therapist and started asking questions. Like what type of medicine should I be on? Is there a way to stop the dreams? Can I go back to school without screaming if I should fall asleep? He just stood there waiting for them to be done asking. “Please sir and madam. This is the first time I have met your teen and I want to set an appointment for tomorrow. Since you’re doing home schooling we can get through faster and get everyone’s life back to normal.” He said nodding to me at the end. With that we left and my parents tried to get information out of me with what we talked about and he if agreed with the two therapist if I just had an over action imagination. I didn’t answer them just stared out my window as we drove home. Our home was in the really nice part of town. Where the doctors and lawyers lived. My father was a doctor, and a good one. But when it comes to me having those dreams he has no idea what to do other then try to give me pills. Which don’t help at all. My mother is the trophy wife. So she’s always at the gym, hair salon, and nail salon. Along with spa days once a week. Which me and these dreams seeing the therapist is really cutting into her beauty time. Which she loves to tell me everyday after dad leaves for work. She really loves dad and wants to keep his eyes are her. So cutting into her beauty is putting their marriage in danger and apparently my life too. I have a hard believing that. But whatever she says I just tend to pretend I’m listening to her. We pull up to our house. Which was one of the nicer one on the block. Two story house and a finished basement. My parents have the first level and the basement is all mine. I have no reason to ever go upstairs. So I’m pretty much alone all the time and I like it that way. Mainly because I'm different from my parents and everyone else I’m around. But that is to be excepted since apparently I’m dreaming of a cold case murder. My parents go into the house before I’m ever out of the car. ‘We’ll so much for wanting about to talk about what happened today.’ I thought as I walked through the door and went to the right of the staircase, and down the hall. I passed the living room, a dinning room, study, and the kitchen to come to a door that leads to the basement. I heard my parents whispering as I passed the living room. They always seem to do that. But I don’t think much of it. “Oh sweetheart come here please.” My mother called from the living room. I had just opened the door to the basement. ‘Geez they could have said something sooner.’ I thought as I closed the door and headed toward the living room. When I reached the living room they both were on one couch with an empty one across from them. So I took the empty one and they both just stared at me like I wasn’t their child. That I was a total stranger to them. “So why does therapist want to see again tomorrow?” My mother asked taking a sip of her Scotch. I just sat back this was going to be an interrogation. “You heard him yourselves he just wants to help and get all our lives back to normal. But beyond that I don’t know.” I said crossing my arms over my chest. My mother seemed upset by this and got up went around the couch I was sitting on. Setting her glass on the end table before placing her hands firmly on my shoulders. “Now dear, we don’t like liars in this house.” She said in a sweet laced with venom. She squeezed my shoulders trying to hurt me. But sadly for her this isn’t new and I’ve been building up my muscles. My father raised his hand to tell her to stop. “Look, it’s just concerning that the therapist wants to see you again so soon. And the first two doctors had the same opinion after the first meeting. So what did you say to this one?” My fathers eyes lost the worried dad look to them and become cold and hard. I just stared straight into them. “I said the same exact thing I told the other two. Not my fault this guy actually wants to help me. Besides you and mom forced me to go. Just so you could claim I was crazy.” I spat at him. My mother did not hesitate and back handed me. Shocking I know, they seemed like they should care more. But they don’t care at all. Except when it come to being socially accepted by everyone else. And so help them if you made things awkward. Which is why the therapist and wanting to be claimed crazy so they can move on and lock me away from the world. After the back hand I got from my mother I got up and walked toward the basement. Which they were both yelling at me to come back because they weren’t done. Standing in the hall with the door open to the basement we had a stare off. “Get back in here! We are not done!” My father yelled. I just glared at him and spat out the glob of blood I had in my mouth from my mother. “I’m done and going to bed.” They didn’t stop me, and I didn’t cared why they didn’t pursue me. I made my way down the step and to the bathroom to shower. It was a long day already and that just made it even longer. ‘At least this day can end now.’ I thought as I dressed in pjs and made my way to my bed. Which looks likes the maids cleaned up my room. My bed was freshly made when I crawled into it. Curling up in my blankets and feeling my body becoming heavy. ‘Hope my face has a bruise tomorrow for the therapist so he asks questions about it.’ I thought as I drifted off into sleep. Thunder rolls over head hiding in the blushes. ‘They’re after me, and they want to kill me!’ I thought tears stung my eyes. My uncle dropped me before he could kill me because the other cousins came looking for me. But instead of running toward the other members of family I ran away. If my aunt and uncle where in on killing me; then the others might be too. It’s been 3 days since all that happened and I’ve been sneaking back to our camp site to eat, and I got my sleeping bag from the tent without waking anyone. Which wasn’t as easy to do. I had almost woke up my cousin who I was suppose the tent with. I’ve been staying some what close by and my cousins where told that I went missing. They were worried about me but my monster uncle told them that the adults are looking for me and I’ll be alright. But don’t let me ruin their fun. ‘What a jerk!’ I thought as I heard voices in the distance. “The storm is rolling in we need to leave!” Someone yelled over the thunder. A bright light of lightening flashed and I could see my family packing up and quickly. “But what about Sky?! We can’t leave yet!” My oldest cousin said looking into the trees where I happen to be hiding. “Forget Sky sweetheart. Never should have ran off like that. We need to get everyone else to some where safe. Here is not.” My aunt told her daughter as she was leading her to the car. With that they were loaded up and left. I ran out of my hiding spot and went to the family that was staying next to us. “Help! Help me please! My uncle tried to kill me 3 days ago. Please let me call my parents and the police!” I called over the rolling thunder and banged on the door. “Oh my word!” A voice came from behind me. I turned around and it was my parents! I felt so relieved I started crying and ran to my mom and hugged her. “Mom! He tried to kill me and auntie was in on it! I was so scared!” I cried into her she petted my head by didn’t say anything. My father went into the camper and called someone. “Is dad calling the police?” I asked as mom lead me into the camper. “Larry, are they on their way?” My mother asked my father. He just nodded his head yes. I let my mom go and went to hug my dad and he pushed me away. “Have a seat and tell us everything.” That was odd, why didn’t he want to hug me? Also I thought they couldn’t make the camping trip because work and yet they’re here. “First tell me how are you and mother here? I thought you couldn’t come camping because of work. And yet this camper was here when we pulled up.” My head a spinning so much had happened and there’s just too many questions. “Why aren’t you dead!” My father snapped at me, and grabbed me but the throat lifting me from the floor. I jolted out of bed with a coughing fit. That’s new my dream never changed until now. That’s really odd, but maybe it’ll all be over soon then. No more whack dreams and I can go back to school. Looking over at my clock it was five am. ‘Well might as well get up.’ I thought as I slid out of bed and stretched out my muscles. Which my shoulders ache, and my cheek hurt. Then my own horrors came back to what happened before I fell asleep. ‘Maybe I’m having bad dreams because my parents suck.’ I thought as I made my way to my kitchen. Which I decided on having toast for breakfast it’s quick easy and not that loud. Not that my parents are home. Mom at the spa all day, and dad is working. So I’ll have to have a driver take me to my appointment with that therapist. Faster these get over with the better. My parents will leave alone again and I can focus on how I’m going to support myself and never see them again. I really liked the idea of never seeing them again and changing my name to something else. After eating I clean up my mess and go and get dress for the day. ‘Now to take a look at homework and make sure everything is done.’ Looking at my homework that was given I had it all done. But it never hurts to go over it and make sure it’s right so I don’t get a bad grade. Since this whole dream thing I made sure my parents have had nothing else to use against me. So I’ve kept my grades at 4.0 level and get a ‘don’t let drop’ from my parents. An alarm goes off looking at the clock it’s now 9 o’clock. ‘Well time for that appointment.’ I grabbed my books and stuffed them into a backpack. Heading up the stairs I hear someone talking. ‘Who the heck is here?’ I opened up the door and saw my mom talking to the therapist. He spotted me from the c***k of the door. “Oh hello! Your mother was telling me that you couldn’t make our appointment. So I thought I come to you.” I could see my mom looking angry. Trying to block the door. But since I was seen I waved hi. “Oh she said that? Mom aren’t you suppose to be at the Spa today?” I headed to the front door. She turned to face me and glared. “Yes I am. That’s why you can’t make the appointment.” She said in a frustrated tone. I just gave her a confused look, because I’m old enough to go out on my own. But sure mom ok. “Well since he was nice enough to come to us. Go enjoy your spa day, and we’ll sit in the living room and get it over with.” I said allowing the therapist into the house and gesturing to the living room. He moved pasted us and went into the living room without hesitation. I turned to follow him but my mother grabbed my arm. “Just remember you only have vivid dreams from an overactive imagination.” She hissed under her breath. I yanked my arm away and called back. “Better make it to the spa so they can do something about those wrinkles you’re getting.” Glancing over my shoulder she had a horrified look and raced out the door.
