Seeing Charmaine in the office and her threatening words had left a sour taste in Rose’s mouth. She had been accused of things she hadn’t done and was glad to have stood up and given at least a little bit back to that woman.
The next morning, alighting from the black BMW right at the office main porch, Sarah had meant more eyes on her instead of a discreet entrance by the side door. The driver had insisted and they had both given in. But now, getting inside the main entrance, Rose noticed people staring at her, giving her strange looks. She realizes everyone might be judging her.
