There were more people gathered on the college square than I expected. Many many more. But it wasn’t to them that my eyes were drawn.
There was a tree in the centre of the green. A giant tree in full bloom. It’s leaves shading the ground in a strange green twilight.
A tree that wasn’t there before.
I paused. Dragging on Rhyders hand until he slowed as well. There hadn’t been anything there before. Not unless you counted the little sapling Bradley had planted the day he had unveiled his wings.
Was that the same plant? Had that tiny sprout of green grown to such a magnificent tree in such a short amount of weeks.
Throwing a look at Rhyder I found his sharing a look with Drake who was bringing up the rear.
“How long have we been gone?”I whispered.
