AWAKE

The furious drafts that whizzed outside, threatening to trespass onto the thick fabric walls of their tent and pluck it cleanly from the ground were loud enough to reach Souna´s sharp senses in the middle of her already shallow dream, making her spring up in a sudden alerted state. Only to find Ussi sitting silently in the opposite corner, fully awake and staring blankly at her. -Oh Gods! What the f**k, Ussi! – She shrieked, jolting back frightenedly – You scared the s**t out of me! What the hell are you doing up at this hour of the night? The interior of their makeshift shelter was practically pitch black due to a completely moonless night, so all that she could really see was the darker outline of the warrior's frame, and the vague glint of his bright eyes, but it was enough for her to recognize his familiar stance. -Are you watching me sleep again, you silly? – She weakly chuckled after her startlement had faded enough to put down the blade that she had been instinctively wielding – I've told you, that makes you look like a creep. Now, come back to bed, please. -I'm fine – Ussiariah reluctantly sighed, tiredly rubbing the bridge of his nose – You know I have never needed to sleep that much anyway. -I do, but I also know when something is bothering you, Love – Souna pointedly remarked, crawling to where he sat and climbing onto his lap. Feeling his strong arms reactively wrap around her waist in response, she threw her own around his neck and placed a gentle peck on the tip of his nose. -I can hear the wheels turning inside your head, Ussi – She sighed, leaning her chin against his temple – So, tell me, mister night-owl, what is it that is keeping you awake? The howling of the relentless storm viciously pelting against the structure of their portable chamber rang deafeningly in their ears while they remained interlaced in each other's arms. It was a constant reminder that by dawn their campsite would have almost been buried under all the accumulated sand overnight…. Almost as if the desert itself wanted to swallow them whole within its entrails and erase them from the very face of the earth. -Doubt – The warrior gloomily grunted at last. His deep voice reverberating over the strident and incessant sound blaring outdoors– I fear that I am misremembering that map, and leading us to our early grave instead of Alesh… After all, I only saw it in passing a couple of times, decades ago, and I wasn't even paying attention at all! -And still, that is probably the clearest notion of its likely whereabouts that anyone has ever had! Don´t you see! We were lucky that Yahurians kept it in their charts – Souna confidently declared, encouragingly rubbing his shoulders up and down – At least, that is better than chasing a Kakthos wren all around! -But I never took it seriously enough –Ussiariah remorsefully exhaled – Every time I saw that little red mark up north, I discarded it as an old reference to a colorful anecdote… And nothing more. I never thought that I would be racking my brains someday trying to recall, and cursing my former self for being so negligent. -You couldn't have known – She calmly reasoned – It is not like you were expecting Yahur's services to be ever needed there. -And that was my biggest mistake! – Ussi gloomily exclaimed, driving his hands to his head in a remorseful gesture – Why would I be so quick to assume that it was unimportant in the first place? -Because that is what it was back then! – Souna confidently stated – You surely had a thousand more pressing matters on your plate! - Maybe, yet I shouldn't have been so naïve to think that it was casually displayed there just because – He bitterly murmured – Knowing that nothing is ever arbitrary when it comes to Yahur, and especially when I'd already heard all the tales, I should have given it more than a distracted stare. -Don't blame yourself, Ussi, there is no use… You can't go back in time and change that, so focus on what you can do – Souna optimistically said – Besides, you are the most sharp-eyed person I know, and I'm sure you saw plenty enough… So, relax, and eventually, it will all come back to you. -Relax? Me? What are you talking about? I am perfectly chill! – The warrior listlessly chuckled. Grabbing her by the wrist and placing a light peck on it – You, on the contrary… Weren't you just holding a bare knife without reason in this pretty little hand? -Fair enough – She agreed with a playful pout, grinding her crotch lasciviously against his hardening bulge – You are right, Commander, I have been feeling quite tense these days… And you know what? I think we could use some distraction as we are both so terribly stressed. -Shhh! They are going to hear us! – Ussi warned her without much conviction as he shivered at the feeling of her wet tongue trailing down his neck. -Let them! – Souna huffed. A malicious grin stretching broadly across her face – It is our turn to make a ruckus of our own for a change! I mean, we've been hearing those two going at it for days! After so many petty excuses and failing to do his actual job, Phomtek now seemed to have come to his senses and decided that it was time for him to start being a responsible parent at last by joining their quest north, to Souna´s justified wrath. -Well… I guess they must have really missed each other – Ussiariah mindlessly commented, his voice straining into a low hiss when she abruptly dug into his trousers with her freezing cold fingers and grabbed his throbbing manliness by surprise. -Oh… It sounds like they have indeed – Souna maliciously said, blindly descending between his thighs with agape lips – But not nearly as much as I have missed the taste of you, Commander... So, come here. The chilly gusts of dusty wind that blew throughout the endless miles of barren land would muffle the vibrating echo of Ussiariah's enthralled moans as Souna swallowed him assiduously up and down her throat while he remained seated among the shadows with his head heedlessly thrown back and a palm delicately resting on her scalp. With a clear goal set in her head, Souna centered her undivided attention on the task at hand, guided by the progressive intensity of her husband's groans and the noticeable stiffness that took hold of his muscles and posture with every second that passed. Suddenly, nothing else in the world mattered as much as pleasing the extraordinary specimen of a man that she had helplessly surrendered at her will and about to burst inside her mouth. The anticipation of this greatly craved spill making her double her pace so that she could finally savor the result of her efforts to make him come. A well-deserved gratification that would arrive barely a moment later when the warrior vociferously reached his orgasm and ejaculated a warm shot of c*m into her eager throat, abandonedly squirming and proffering a chain of intelligible howls. Once she made sure that she had licked him clean till the last drop, she leaned on his hard chest and contently listened to his agitated heartbeat slowly return to a normal rate. -You are utterly insane! – He huffed in a hoarse voice once his respiration had sufficiently regularized and his hand went exploring with precision while instinctively hunting for the spot between her legs, getting a nervous laugh out of her – But you were absolutely right, this definitely gave me some clarity of mind… So, why don't you let me reciprocate? It was not even dawn when Souna was jolted awake again. This time by the combat motion that Ussiariah unexpectedly made. And she had been so profoundly asleep that it would take her a few groggy seconds to understand the reason for his behavior at first. But by the moment the warrior's fist had closed around the cold steel of his ever-present spear, she had already heard it as well. And she was instantly filled with dread... There was something coming their way.
