Before Reynold and Ren could even discuss who would mark me and possibly get into a fight out of jealousy, a frantic knock jolted us. "Alpha, we have a problem," Beta Owen said from the other side of the door.
Alpha Ren opened the door, and Owen gasped for breath as he reported the news: "Abigail... I think shadow wraith... They attacked her." My eyes widened in shock, and I followed Owen to the wing where Abigail was being kept under house arrest.
Reynold and I, Alpha Ren, arrived to find Abigail bruised and battered. I ordered Owen to remove the wolfbane handcuffs from Abigail's hands, and her heartbeat was barely audible.
I tried to summon my healing magic, and Reynold assisted me, but it seemed like Abigail was far from being saved. I did my best to heal her
