For the past several nights Luna Sarah was unable to sleep well. Always tossing and turning, never seeming to find herself comfortable. Something was wrong, something was calling to her in her dreams. That night she decided to stay away and call to the Moon Goddess. She needed answers and She would have them for her.
“Yes my darling” the Moon Goddess appeared in her dreams after Sarah finally dozed off peacefully. “Moon Goddess, why am I so restless? What is going on? Why does my heart tell me something is wrong” Sarah asks quickly nearly stumbling over her own words. “Why don't you realize whats about to happen” giggles the Moon Goddess. “Maybe this will help recall who is missing from this realm.”
Within a moment flashes of wolves, Mother, Father, Sarah, and who's this? Such a beautiful wolf. A white wolf.. but with the sparkle and shimmer of a unicorn's coat. A rare white wolf. And powerful to! But who is she? Why do I feel like I know her? Can't be my sister, she was lost when Mother died in childbirth. Father was devastated for years! There's no way this is her. She's not alive, not in our realm that I know of.
“Moon Goddess..” Sarah's asks as her voice is trailing off. “Hmmmm” she replies with a loving and caring tone. Like a mother to a child. Sarah carefully continues her question, debating if she wants the pain to return from the memory of her lost mother and sister. “Is Anna alive? Did my father hide her all these years? Its because she's a white wolf isn't it?” Sarah has all the thoughts and questions running through her head... “Show me where she is please.”
Throughout that night the Moon Goddess showed Sarah how to find her sister, and informed her that she doesn't know who or what she is, but the Queen was getting ready to tell her, so she need to get there soon to help the young Princess understand. “Princess, she's a princess in the human realm? But why? Why would my father give her to the humans?” Sarah snapped angrily.
For the human's weren't the best towards her husbands pack, and never show respect to her father when they would visit the human realm. HE IS A KING! THE ALPHA KING! Stupid humans, how can they raise my sister to be the Alpha Kings daughter? They probably have her hidden away in some tall tower. I've read what they do with their pricesses. They are locked away waiting for some skinny wannabe warrior prince to rescue them.
“You should stop reading those stories” snorts the Moon Goddess which turns into light laughter. “Not all humans are bad. Your father chose these humans. They had prayed for a daughter. Someone they could raise to be brave. And not frail like the stories in childrens books. So when the Alpha King called to me, I showed him the Queen in his dreams, and within the week your daughter was taken to the human realm. She is safe there. And she needs to stay there until her 18th birthday when she's able to access her full powers. But not before. You need to go and stop the Queen before she reveals our world too soon. Your sister will try to return and be captured by your father's enemies. You must make sure your not seen Sarah. Your sisters life depends on it.

After speaking with her father the next morning, she packed clothes of her maids that wore the same size clothes as her. She couldn't cross the barrier as Luna Sarah. She needed to be Isabelle'. A nobody. No one anyone would notice. She grabbed a cloth rag so she could wrap her hair up and hide the silver shimmer when the light hits it just right. She had such beautiful hair. But she loved her fur more. For she was the perfect cross between her parents she thought. Her husband Alpha Devon of the Woodland Pack, had fallen in love with her long before they are mates. They grew up together.
Devon didn't know about the Alpha King's other daughter and Sarah decided not to tell him. She simply said the Moon Goddess was sending her on a misson before they could be blessed with children. Which they both wanted in the near future. There pack was strong, and everyone was very close. They rose up with the Greyhills pack to defend her father against the Dark Lake pack.
The Dark Lake pack was a scary group of wolves. They aren't the meanest, but they are rude and very disrepectful to their king. My king. My father. Anger once again falls over her. How could her father keep such a secret from me. How could he not trust me with this. Letting me think they were both dead this whole time. I will have to deal with this when I return. My sister needs me now. Wow! That felt good to say. Felt so right, but why do I feel so much saddness and anger.
Sarah shook off her feelings, and continued to pack the last items into her back, and left in the dark of night. She went by way of the staff, and they made sure Sarah wasn't seen. They knew she was going to the human realm, but nobody knew why. And it was going to stay that way. Last thing she wanted was to be followed by anyone, especially the Dark Lake spies that she swears are among the staff.
Finally the wall of trees before the barrier. These aren't just any trees, they are the ancient grand redwoods. Bigger than a castle tower and stronger than the force of any magic. They help keep the younger pups away from any accidental crossings, and keep out any unwanted wild life from the human realm. Most of the trees are over 1,000 years old from the myth and lore stories pasted down from parent to child over the ages.
She held her breath, and closed her eyes as she stepped into the glimmer of the barrier. She had only a faint whirring feeling before once again opening her eyes where she was in a forest. Unlike the one she entered from her own realm. There was a sign “Kingdom this way” with an arrow pointing to her left, and a foot path leading off in the same direction the sign pointed. “Hmmm it seems this path is used often” Sarah crouched down to inspect the ground for possible fresh tracks. “but not in a long while it seems, maybe 6 weeks at least.” Standing up and dusting off the dirt from her hands, she starts her way down the path, towards the kingdom. Which kingdom she wasn't certain.
“Queen Amyri, someone crossed over, they are coming up the path... it seems Your Highness, a woman...” the soliders voice trails off as the Queen raises her hand “Tell no one of this. NO ONE! Not even the King! I must see who she is. Gather our visitor and bring her to the courtyard. But first find out if her name is Sarah. If so. Give her this” The queen quickly writes something on paper and hands it to the solider. “She will need some fresh clothes as well” turning to the maid “If this is Sarah, we will need to give her the finest of the guest suites here in the castle. Lets go ahead and prepare just in case. But something in my heart tells me it's Sarah. She is to be treated like a Princess, as she is equal in her title to our own princess.
Please everyone, see to this at once”
With that the Queen hurries out of the room saying lastly “I must speak with my husband.. Where is that old fool of a King today?” a solider in the hallway shouts out “I believe I saw him in the kitchen, trying to get a treat from the cook before lunch” Chuckling the Queen spins on her toes and walks swiftly towards the kitchen to find her husband. She has much to tell the King about their new guest who is arriving. The Alpha Kings oldest Daughter, Luna Sarah. Sister by blood to her daughter Princess Anna.
The staff of the castle was busy for the next few hours. Sarah noticed as the guards had shown up with a horse and carriage to pick her up and bring her to the castle to meet with the Queen. Sarah had never really met with the humans before. Especially not the Royals...
The guards had startled her when they first rode up to her. She wasn't sure what they wanted. But after the captain of the guard, as he called himself, had introduced himself, and asked her name. They immediately spring into action when she said “Sarah, my name is Sarah, I'm new to these parts, and I was looking for..” and was cut off with the reply of “Queen Amyri is waiting for you. Please come with us, the carriage is quicker and more comfortable.” They weren't wrong.
The Castle was beautiful. She asked the guards what the fuss was about and with delight in their voice “The Princess is turning of age. We are preparing for her ceremony. She is next in line for the Kings crown. Since they do not have a son. She will be eligible to wed in just a few days.” said the driver of the carriage. “please forgive me” said Sarah. “but what age is that might I ask. We might have different traditions, and I love learning about my neighboring kingdoms.”
The driver replied with a smile “Well, we normally do the ceremony at age 18. but sometimes it's done at different ages. Just depends per Royal family I suppose.” You could tell he started to think of different reasons why this would happen from the change in his voice. Sarah just smiled and was caught when he thought “18 years. The princess is almost 18 years. Man, I forgot how long its been since I seen mother, since I felt the kick of my sister in her belly, since the last time I seen them.. alive.. or I thought.”
As the carriage came around to the front of the castle, she could see a woman in the most beautiful dress. It was such a dark green. Like the color of pine needles in spring...
“Hello Sarah, I'm Queen Amyri. This is my Kingdom in the, how do you say it, the human realm. May I show you to your room? We have much to discuss, and I have a letter to show you” the Queen spoke as Sarah was getting out of the carriage at the bottom of the steps. The castle was large from what Sarah could see from the carriage ride through the small town and court yard before it came the stop at the bottom of these beautiful marbled stairs that lead to the front entrance of the castle. Humans build similar castles to the ones she was accustomed to living in. She has so many questions now.
The Queen hands her a folded piece of paper. It looks pretty old, but has been kept quite well. She carefully opens each fold, and it reveals her mother's hand writing.
“This very small and beautiful child is Anna, my daughter. She will one day be the most powerful werewolf there is. You, Queen Amyri, as my best friend know all to well what is about to happen to me. I have spoken to Alpha King Rex, my husband, about when this day comes to bring you Anna. That you and your wonderful caring husband King Darrius would keep her safe, and hidden from our realm and our enemies.
The Moon Goddess has already showed me that this day is coming, the day of her birth. As no wolf has survived the birth of such a powerful werewolf who was blessed with unicorn magic. She is only the third of her kind. I heard there was a boy, born just days ago. We have yet to find which pack he comes from as no one has spoken of the death of a wolf.
Please Amyri, I ask you as my dying wish, take my child, raise her to be the wonderful woman you have become, and speak nothing of who she is until her 18th birthday, or until the Moon Goddess sends my daughter Sarah. She will most likely be a Luna to a neighboring pack of our kingdom. But won't be dressed as such. And I am sure my husband will find a way to visit here and there. Since we are friends, he will want to make sure that you are okay at the notice of my death, and the birth of Anna, a daughter we are both blessed with.
With love, your best friend
Jess
Sarah,
The day you read this I want you to know I love you so much sweet heart. And I'm proud of the woman you have become. Did you become Luna of the woodlands pack? I wish I was there for your ceremony becoming Luna, and when you found your mate, and when you felt the bond of your wolf for the first time. Please be there for Anna, like your Aunt Emma was there for you in my place. I'm truly sorry that I wasn't able to see you grow up. But the Moon Goddess granted me one wish, and I asked to see who you were in 18 years.. I am so proud. I love you Darlin. Until we meet again.”
With tears welling up in her eyes, she sets down the letter, and just looks at the Queen. Who comes to her and holds her in a motherly embrace. “How did I not know about you, not once did my father talk about a link to the human world.” Sarah spoke after several minutes of just allowing this human to hold her. But there was something strange about her... She didn't smell like a human at all. Who was she?! What was she.
