Part 5: The Rape (Or Something Very Much Like It)
Dawn marked the official end of the festival; the dew was burning off the campgrounds, and tents were being struck with the rising sun. The hung-over crowds began to slowly disperse, the clans packing up and making their way back to their ancestral homes – all, that is, but the Sabines. They stayed behind, huddled in council. After several hours, a delegation was sent to seek an immediate audience with Romulus.
