Chapter 2

With Elsa watching from a distance and half expecting her family to break into a sprint and flee from the approaching werewolf, they did the opposite. She stood there with her jaws wide open as she looked at their faces and they all didn't seem alarmed, instead, they all broke out in unison into a loud laughter and she could hardly believe their reaction. Elsa became even more confused as her dad pointed at the werewolf, and said some gibberish to her mom and brother which resulted in another outburst of laughter. She became quite concerned about their reaction because they seem to be under some influence as they feel safe when danger was already on them. Elsa briskly moved her gaze back to the werewolf with red eyes that was filled with terror, then that was when it dawned on her as she soon realized why they were laughing. "No!, It was right there, it was a werewolf, it's not supposed to be.......a dog!" she blurted out to herself as the words faded out. She still couldn't believe that the huge werewolf that came from the dark with intensity and hatred had suddenly reduced to a brown-haired dog wagging its tail in total loyalty to its owner as it ran towards her dad who bent down afterward to stroke its back with a proud smile on his face as his pet came to him. Elsa was left bewildered as her face was red with crimson, the group looked up at her again and broke out laughing once more, it made her look like a fool and she hated the feeling. She was sure of what she saw but she lacked the words to explain how the big, bad werewolf managed to transmogrify into the brown dog within a twinkle of an eye before her unsuspecting family. So while she fixed her gaze on the dog, she could swear that she noticed a wry smile on its face as it locked eyes with , Elsa knew that it was an expression showing victory coming from the dog but she wasn't sure of what it could be celebrating yet. Her family turned their back against the dog, fully focused on her and still motioning for her to come over that the animals meant no harm, but something inside told her that what they were saying wasn't true, she knew that the dog was hiding something and the look on its face was mischievous, showing that it's up to something fishy, but what scares her the most was that her family had no idea that they were in danger. Elsa noticed that the dog was slowly walking back into the dark and she felt a little bit of ease as the strange dog walked out, but with her eyes still in the direction that the dog had just vanished into, several red fiery eyes popped out from the dark like they have been waiting in hiding for an order to attack. Elsa almost choked for breath as they began to step out with the dog leading them toward her family. She looked back to see if her family were observing, but just as she had expected, they weren't looking at all, Elsa tried calling out to them, but again, no words came from her throat. Then without warning, the werewolves pounced on her family with intensity aiming to terminate them all. With their backs against the impending werewolves, they were caught off-guard and outnumbered as the helpless Elsa watched from a distance as her family was being slaughtered right in front of her and yet she couldn't help them out as they all held their hands out to her, crying for help, but the ropes held onto her feet even more as she tried to go over and offer them help even though she stands no chance against the werewolves. Tears began dropping from her eyes as she sobbed bitterly when she saw that no one survived the attack. Then at that moment, she recalled seeing the dog leading them to her family, but it wasn't among the wolves that attacked her family, she looked around searching for it, and that was when she saw it observing from a distance as the wolves brutalized her family. She was still wondering what role the dog was playing when she saw it smile with satisfaction with how the wolves did their thing. Elsa understood that the dog was their leader and it puzzled her the more why a weak dog would be leading such a fiery pack of werewolves. As if the dog had heard her thought, then out of the blue, it shape-shifted into the big bad wolf she had first seen. She was petrified as the other wolves bowed before the bigger werewolf as it walked majestically towards the fire to feel the warmth like her family had. She was now certain that her family was murdered so that the big werewolf could take their place around the burning flame alone but she felt that it wasn't worth their lives as it could have just asked to join instead or better still, make its campfire with the help of his pack. Still trying to get to grip with what had just happened, she saw that the wolf leader wasn't enjoying the heat anymore as it just stood up looked in her direction, and smiled sheepishly. Elsa felt a knot tie in her stomach as the werewolf leader slowly raised his hand and pointed in her direction. The bowing werewolves stood up from their bowing position, and turned towards her direction with their angry howl and blood-shot eyeball, as their gaze followed where their leader was pointing out, and with the speed of light, they all rushed towards her and she felt so terrified as she couldn't run for her life. Stuck in a place, Elsa anticipated her death as there was no chance of surviving the angry werewolves coming for her life. In the background, she could hear the satisfactory evil laugh of the werewolf's leader as she knows it was game over for her just like her family. Inches away from Elsa, the werewolves launched midway as they aimed at different parts of her body to shred. Elsa just stared in horror as her life flashed before her eyes. when the evil wolves made contact with her body with their sharp claws, her mind and body couldn't hold on to the pains all over her body as she fell with her back and the wolves landed on her while they attacked. "NOOOO!" she screamed out loudly from the immense pain, closed her eyes screaming hard for life as she felt claws raining on her skin, then suddenly, she heard a loud recurring sound that overshadowed her scream. The moment she heard that sound, everything paused for a while and she felt numb as she couldn't feel the wolves on her anymore even with her eyes closed. Then it struck her. "Am I dead already"? She thought to herself not wanting to open her eyes. Then the sound repeated but this time more intense and seconds from the next. Elsa was sure she was in the afterlife, but she refused to open her eyes not knowing what to expect. But after a while of not wanting to open her eyes, something happened that she never expected in the afterlife and it drove her curiosity to the maximum. She heard something calling her name, but it was faint, she wasn't sure if she was hearing things but when it repeated, she decided to open her eyes as she couldn't bear the suspense anymore, but when she did, she couldn't believe her eyes.
