Sophie’s POV The door to Adrian’s office slammed behind me, but it wasn’t enough to shut out his voice. Next time… I won’t stop. Those words weren’t just a warning. They were a promise, heavy and raw, vibrating through my chest long after I left him. I hated the way my pulse jumped at the memory, hated that his nearness lingered on my skin like a bruise I couldn’t scrub away. He was the man I should despise.
