Chapter Nine Most nights, Felicity and Judith continued to torment poor Mary Ann. Hannah had reconciled herself to the obvious fact, which was that if the girl had any objections to what was done to her, she would have removed herself by now. There was always the option to find another room. But it seemed she chose not to. Hannah was sitting in the coffee shop the next afternoon, trying to persuade herself that she was reading a book but in fact digesting the experiences of the previous day.
