Chapter Thirty-One
Six girls from the German class were invited to accompany Judith and Felicity to visit Frau Ledermann one evening. Hannah was included. There was speculation in advance about what would happen at this event, but no hard information. When asked, Judith simply replied, “Wait and see.”
The girls assembled in Frau Ledermann’s apartment, expectant and curious. Frau Ledermann dispensed glasses of wine, then, in response to a muttered comment from Judith, took up a seat opposite her guests. She wore her usual uniform of short, tight skirt and matching blouse. She looked a little nervous.
