*** Ethan *** I had never felt this helpless and scared in my life. I knelt beside her, her limp form sprawled on the floor of the tomb chamber. Her skin had gone cold, her breath shallow—almost nonexistent. It had shaken me, I whispered her name over and over again, I pressed my ear to her chest just to be sure her heart is still beating. Time dragged cruelly. The glowing vines along the walls pulsed slowly, casting an eerie lifer over the both of us. My jaw clenched as I gently stroked her cheek. “Lyra… come back,” I whispered, not caring that my voice seemed cracked. I had no idea how long I sat there. Minutes? Maybe an hour?
