Chloe’s eyes widened in shock. Did Father just slide me to the other side just to save me and get hurt? What exactly happened? An earthquake in this pack? One minute I was there talking to Chase, the second he left, a scream echoed everywhere and this whole place started to shake… what must have happened, or was it the scream that came from upstairs?
But Richard’s groans in agony stopped her further from her thoughts. “Father!” she said, rushing towards him.
“Somebody help!” she called out, crying. “Why did you do that? How do I help you, Father?”
The maids, the guards—everyone was devastated. No one knew what to do or the direction he or she should take.
