Silent

Chapter 7

I was about to fall asleep until my alarm started blaring. My eyes shot open. I grabbed the alarm and turned it off, getting up. I lazily walked over to the dresser and grabbed the first outfit I saw, which consisted of black jeans, a long sleeve shirt and a hat. I shrugged and changed into the clothes only to frown, the jeans hugged my skin and I don't like it. They’re too skinny, the shirt is fine but the jeans aren't… I checked the time only to realize I had very limited time left. I grabbed the hair brush and brushed my extremely knotted and matted hair for about 10 minutes before it was finally knot free and soft. I stood in front of the mirror and smiled for once in a very long time, I actually looked… pretty.

I then ran to the forbidden room to find matching shoes that matched. I spotted grey vans near the bed so I ran over to them and snatched them up. Running back to my room, I grabbed socks and quickly put them on along with my shoes. I stood up and grabbed the foundation and bandaids, putting the bandaid on before the foundation. Afterwards, it looks as if I wasn’t beaten to a bloody pulp last night. After I was finished, I took off out the door, running to school. I entered the school building and I was the only one in the hall, which made me suspicious. Why aren't there any students? I don't know…

“ Well, would you look at that, Chesnut actually tried to make herself look decent today.” I cannot cry today because the foundation around my eye will come off, I have to stay strong no matter what she says or does. I stayed silent, letting my head drop. I forgot my sweatshirt. How could I be so careless? I need to hide my face just in case the foundation comes off throughout the day! I’m an i***t! Turning around, I kept my head down. “Look at me, I just gave you a compliment. I see you actually brushed your hair and made an effort with your outfit, why?” I shook my head, playing with my fingers nervously. “ b***h, I just gave you millions of compliments and you’re just throwing them away? I shouldn't waste my time with you!” she hissed, grabbing my shoulders and shoving me against a locker. My head hit the lockers harder than my body and I fell to the ground, holding my throbbing head. “Fight! Fight! Fight!” The students roared as a circle started to form. I scanned the crowd for one of the new kids so they would help me but they weren't around.

I tried to yell out before something serious happened but nothing came out. I looked like one of those movies that have no sound, so all you see is mouths moving. I suddenly was lifted by my neck, the person squeezing tightly. I glared at Amanda as she kept squeezing. I tried to inhale but couldn't get any air. Suddenly, I felt something crack and pop, my throat became dry and hot. I saw black dots block my vision, just as Amanda was ripped off of me by Able. They were arguing with each other but I blocked everyone out as I inhaled deeply. I started coughing randomly, which was a surprise to everyone in the hall, including me. This was the most noise I’ve ever made before. I couldn't scoff, gasp, cough, or sneeze before she choked me. I held my throat as everyone still stared at me, including Amanda and Able. I gave Amanda a look of anger and that made her confused. “ Why are you angry you stupid b***h?” I ignored the rude comment and held back the tears of anger that threatened to spill. I couldn't let them find out. I shook my head, got up and stormed away, but just as I rounded the corner I was grabbed, which made me freeze in my place. My fear hasn't left me….

“Arwyin, we need to talk some more. At lunch just sit with me and my friends, we will talk there” was all Able said before turning and walking to his class. I stood there, still scared of what could happen if I sat with them. They could be using me and when I get comfortable around them they’ll hurt me... I’ll just have to find out the hard way.

I’ll sit with them.
