Chapter 10When he got out of class at noon on Monday, Brody called Adrian. At first the person who answered the phone at the restaurant didn’t want to let Brody speak to his boss. It was only when he explained he was calling about the flowers and he was on his lunch break that he was put through.
Brody was promptly invited to lunch. After he explained he was due at a lab at 1:30, he was invited to lunch the following day. He accepted but he reminded Adrian he was due at the Colby shop at one o’clock.
“Tell Bob you’ll be a little late but that it’s a business lunch. He’ll understand that.”
“Is there a problem?”
“Nothing big, but yes, there’s something we need to talk about.”
“Okay, Adrian. Thanks. I’ll see you about 12:20. It will take me that long to get there after my class.”
