Ashley and Henry entwined fingers as they waited patiently to see their guest. Ashley had Asher on her thigh. Henry had purposely made a show of having the bodyguards around the place. He didn’t know if he could trust this man yet and more importantly he wanted him to know that he didn’t.
When his mother had given him the information about the whereabouts of his father at first, he didn’t want to think about it. He knew he could have easily found his father if he wanted but he didn’t. He hurt him that his father had not made the first step to come look for him but after his mother’s revelation of the true state of things, he had considered it and now here he was with his family in the house of the man who had taken flight and abandoned him as a child.
