Chapter 2

Archer couldn't help but stare at her as she walked towards her locker, avoiding his packmates/teammates along her way. She was gorgeous. Her black curly hair framed her heart shaped face. Her grey eyes, surrounded by thick lashes, concentrated on fiddling with the code and he couldn't help the slight smile when she did a small cheer as the lock opened which turned into a fond stare as her eyes widened in shock as her paperwork fell to the floor. One of her papers stops at his feet and he kneels to grab it and holds it in front of her. He picks up on how her heartbeat starts to race as she stares at the paper in her hand and he feels a rush of excitement as her grey eyes meet his own in shock. He's caught off guard as noirette makes a small squeak like noise as she jumps up and he winces when her head hits the corner of the locker door. He watches as she rubs her head in pain and he couldn't help letting out a small exhale when she takes the paper from his hand, refusing to look at him. If it weren't for his hearing, he wouldn't have heard the soft 'thank you'. His inner wolf whines when she doesn't look or say anything more and he takes a chance. "Are you ok?" He asks, softly. Archer watches as Sunni jumps again, such a jittery creature, he thinks. She closes her locker slightly to fully look at him then looking around before pointing to herself. He nods and she blushes as she stutters out an answer. "O-oh! Yeah, I'm ok! Just a small bump." She said in a cheery voice, lightly knocking against the part that got hit by the locker. The auburn haired Alpha snorted as she winced. "I'm glad you're ok then, it sounded painful." Taking that as a sign to continue, he walked closer before leaning against the lockers. Her wide eyes looked at him with a curiosity. He suddenly gets nervous as she continues her stare before she gives a goofy smile, leaning against her locker as she gives him the finger gun. "S-so what's Archer Wood doing talking to little ol' me?." Her voice, despite the teasing tone, stutters a bit. Archer lets out a laugh and Sunni's blush intensifies. "N-not that you have to answer. It's just shocking that you, the most popular and handsome guy in school wants to talk to me-." Archer watches as the girl freezes, her face slowly cringing at what he supposed was because of her words. Not that he cared. His chest slightly puffed. She thinks he's handsome. He wanted to hold her against him and whisper sweet nothing into her ears. He gives her a smile. "Why wouldn't I want to talk to you, Sunni?" Sunni gave a curious half smile. "You know my name?" "Well, I do sit behind you in AP Bio lll and in English." Sunni looked away in shock, her expression made Archer frown slightly. Did she really not notice? Well how could she? Up until now, they never spoke face to face. His chest tightens as his face grows sad. It'll probably be the last time after tonight. After he's forced to join the Mate Run and find a mate and future Luna. But he doesn't want to when his perfect match is right in front of him. Archer has loved her from afar, but because of his status and what he was, he couldn't get close to her. Not without endangering her. It's better that she didn't know anyways. It'd make things slightly easier. For now, he's content on watching over her and soon he won't have to worry once they graduate. He'll get over this crush (not a crush) and move on with his life. But of course, Fate had other plans.
