Miles p.o.v The forty minutes were really boring, At first, I tried solving some math questions but I ended up falling asleep. After about twenty minutes, I woke up only to see Jace sitting next to me, scribbling something on my jotter. I blinked, squinting my eyes at what he was doing. Great, he was drawing. I looked at it for a while, he was drawing some nature-filled art, and he was great at it. I almost began to think perhaps he wanted to be an artist somebody. Maybe after high school. "It's a pity that I'm going to tear that out. No distractions are allowed in my jotter" He shook, probably expecting me to still be sleeping. He frowned, looking me over. "Don't tell me, you would really do that" "You can't be that inflexible" I arched my brows at him and his eyes widened, holding my book to his chest. "You can't tear it out. It's a sign of our friendship" I sighed, " we are not friends" He rolled his eyes, got up, walked towards his bag and I frowned. "What are you doing?" "Keeping our friendship token safe?" I gritted, eyeing him angrily, "what nonsense" "Give me back my book" "Not a chance" I sighed again, since it was the only thing I could do currently, I leaned into my seat. I looked at the time, It was five minutes remaining till we could get the hell out of here. I was deep in thought until I smelt the aroma of something delicious, jerking out of my thoughts. I turned to see Jace bringing out a harm burger from his bag. I felt my insides crumbling for it. Jace looked over, raising his eyebrows at me, I stared at him enviously, I didn't realize that I was this hungry until now. I waited for him to offer but it never came. After a while of me passing him frequent glances, he sighed, a laugh leaving his lips. "You know if you want something. You're gonna have to ask" He muttered and I gritted my teeth, I hesitated for a while before muttering, "Can I have some?" Jace smiled, his smile reaching his ears, "sure, Milesy" "Don't call me that", I gritted and he chuckled at it. He moved over to me again, cutting the burger into two and passing me the bigger share. I began to munch on it. The remaining part of the detention was filled with him bothering me and I actually didn't mind As much as I would hate to admit it, I was warming up to him and deep down I was beginning to take him as a friend. He reminded me of asher, a lot. *** At exactly forty minutes, we began to pack our bags. The detention lady was back, right on time and I was very thankful that I didn't let Jace convince me into ditching. We signed out, passing her a brief smile, and she returned it. She had some files in her hands, she seemed pretty occupied with them, then suddenly she looked up, glancing at both Me and Jace. "It seems like a girl is waiting for you both, outside" "You should hurry, it seems like she's been waiting for some time" My eyes widened at her words. "Jane-", I muttered, rushing towards the door. I pulled it open to find her sitting neatly on the floor, her eyes on her watch with a very disturbed look on her face. Soon, The door clicked behind me and Jace was standing right next to me.
