The meeting point was a surprisingly populated town called Roseau. It didn’t really have inhabitants, per se, but it seemed to act as a natural trading post. Canadian soldiers and semi-traditionally clad Sioux guards mingled with merchants that ranged dramatically in appearance. Many looked like they may have made the journey all the way from Richmond to sell and barter for goods. Others were dead-ringers for animal trappers from the early days of colonial occupation.
