Chapter 4

       *Winters POV* 

               "Wait," I start to say confused as ever, "you're the Moon Goddess who just happens to also be my grandmother?". "Yes child, I am your grandmother. You're father, was my son." The woman says looking down. "Moon why did you place Quin as my mate?" I ask her. I need to know why she placed me with a huge tormentor for my MATE. She looks up at me with great sadness. "Your mates are chosen the day you are born." She says, "if i would've known that this was how things were going to be i wouldn't have chose him for my sweet angel. I'm so sorry Winter. But on a positive note, I'm here to help you wake up from your coma. You've been trapped here for about 6 months and there is someone waiting for you to wake up. Someone I know would love and cherish you. He is your second chance." She tells me with a small smile. "Why didn't you help me before? If I've been here for 6 months Moon, then what makes you think I'm even strong enough to wake up?" I ask her, trying to hold my tears back. "I cant help anyone down there. That would be interfering which is against the rules. It took everything I had not to stop the rogues from killing your parents or from stopping everyone from hurting you." She said, choking back the tears that threatened to leave her eyes. For some reason, I completely understand why she couldn't intervene. Shes a goddess for christ's sake. But then she continued, "Everyone has a second chance though, Winter. That is one thing I always make sure of. Sometimes you're second chance is older sometimes younger than you." That just reminded me "Wait. Earlier you said there was someone waiting for me to wake up. Someone you know who would love and cherish me. How do you know he wont reject me or beat me?", I asked her. "I know because his wolf is my other most favored creation." She says, looking me dead in the eye as she says it. "Now my child you must go north which is that way," she said pointing her finger, "and follow the tree wall there is a doorway. That is the door you must go through in order the wake up. Zatayra will carry you. I love you so much Winter. You truly are admirable. Zatayra keep her safe my precious. You 2 are destined for great things. Now go, go wake up my sweets." Moon said kissing my forehead. Zatayra stood up stretched, then lowered herself so I could jump on her back. "I love you too grandmother." I say to Moon as Zatayra takes off towards the tree wall then turns slightly to go north. I cant help but to notice how abnormally fast Zatayra is. She could give any Alpha a run for their money. After running for about 20 minutes,Zatayra comes to a sudden stop. "Winter, the doorway." She says in our link. I jump off her and walk up to the door, Z right behind me. I place my hand on the door knob "Well Z, let's wake up" I say as I open the door.

         *Kalebs POV*

                 I've been sleeping here in her hospital room for months now. Waiting, hoping, she would wake up. Oh Moon Goddess please let come back to me, is all I can think to myself. I start dozing off again when all of a sudden the machine that beeps with each heartbeat starts going off rapidly. What the hell I think to myself as I open my eyes to look over at my MATE, she jumps up gasping for air her eyes wide with fear as if she had been drowning. I run over to her bedside and wrap my arms around her pressing her head to my chest, with sparks flying threw my skin. "Its ok breathe sweetheart, just breathe." I say calming her. Just then Jessy the pack dr walks in. "Oh my well hello there hun. I'm jessy the pack dr how are you feeling? Are you feeling ok?" She asks Winter. Winter nods her head yes. She's shaking though. Like she is afraid. "Well Alpha would you mind letting her go so I can run some tests?" She asks me. I nod my head in response and kiss Winter on the top of the head and step out of the room. "Chaz shes awake get over her asap" I tell him threw our link. A couple minutes later he walks up to me. "How is she? Is she gonna be ok?" He asks. Shes his Luna and he is my Beta so naturally he is already pretty attached to her and protective. I shrug my shoulders about to respond when jessy comes out. "Ok Alpha so far so good but there's something's I need to speak to you about." She says. "Follow me we'll go to my office." She starts walking down the hallway with me and Chaz right behind her. "Please have a seat." Me and Chaz both sit down facing her. " there's some things you need to know. Winter has been abused for almost 10 years now." She says as her eyes start to water. "She watched when the rogues killed her parents. She was 10 feet away from her father's arms when it happened." She says making me close my eyes. I cant even begin to imagine what that was like. "As soon as her father's beta killed the Alpha rogue that same day, minutes after her parents died, is when she became a slave." She says, putting her head down, she continues," she has been threw a lot. And her body shows it. She isnt healing how she should be and the lashes on her back were caused by silver soaked in wolfsbane. She has to take it super easy. She isnt fit for travel not even 3 hours and I know your her MATE and I understand you have Alpha duties but she wont be fit for travel for at least 2 weeks. I know itll be hard not to murder everyone in the pack house but please for her sake." She says. I nod my head in response. "What is the extent of damage if I may ask?" I ask her knowing I'm not gonna like the answer but I need to know. "Its bad honestly. She has calcium growth on most of bones from them being broke and healing only to be revoke. She has internal scar tissue of most of her organs and there's scars all over her body. She is also very malnourished and has a slight concussion." I look at Chaz whose faces in showing anger and rage but his eyes were watering and reflected hurt and sadness. "She may react timidly for awhile as well Alpha" jessy continues. "She never deserved any of this and needs to be handled with love and tenderness." "Of course doc. Thank you." I say. Chaz and I get up and walk of her office with more knowledge of what this pack did to her. These f***s are gonna pay dearly soon enough. 

                 As we walk down the hallway approaching Winters room, we stop as we hear voices. "You're not good enough for anyone you pathetic b***h. Alpha Kaleb would never want a weak Luna." A female voice said with a snotty bitchy tone. "Maybe another hot frying pan will teach you you're place," just then Chaz and I entered the room, " Who the f**k do you think you are talking to my MATE that way?" I ask. A kind of short super skinny blonde jumped and turned around scared out of her mind. I look at my MATE who I can tell is shaking because she is afraid. There were a few tears running down her cheeks. Oh so this bimbo not only scared my MATE but also made her cry!!!!!! I growled looking back at the bimbo "Get the f**k out of this room. You come on this hallway I'll kill you. You come within 15 feet of my MATE I'll kill you. If you give her a rude look or say anything disrespectful rude mean I dont give a flying s**t I'll kill you." I growl. I notice the bimbo hiding a hand behind her back and she nods frantically obviously scared beyond belief. "Now before you leave give me what's behind your back. NOW!!!!" I say using my Alpha tone. She throws a dagger of sorts onto the ground and dashes for the door. Before she can reach it though, Chaz grabs her and flings her across the room and right out the window. We walk over to window and look down. Bimbo is still laying on the ground, probably jacked up from the 3 story fall but oh well. She deserved it. I look back at my MATE who looks like she is terrified. "Please dont hurt me." She says holding onto the hospital blanket like it was her life source. "I would never hurt you sweetie." I say to her "You're my mate I could never hurt you." I walk over to her bedside, chaz right behind me saying "I'm his beta it's my job to help protect you. You're my Luna and if anyone hurts you or threatens you or anything I'll rip them apart." It's TRUE to. Chaz would kill whole wolf packs by my side just for his Luna, my mate. I reach for her hand and she jumps. It hurts my heart but I know why and I know it's not my fault. She keeps her head down though. I cant stand it so I grab her chin gently and lift her face up so I can see it. She has the most beautiful icy green eyes I have ever see. If you had a sheet of ice over a luscious green lawn you'd have her eyes. Her heart shaped face is like heaven with her small nose and pale rose lips. I look her in the eyes as I tell her "You never have to be afraid ever again I promise. I'll never let anything happen to you. And in a couple weeks when your well enough to travel you'll move to my pack with me, okay?" She nods her head looking up at me with watery eyes. I know she hasn't been treated the way she should be but I'll treat her how she should've been from the beginning. Better actually and itll make up for the misery she has had to feel. I kiss her forehead. "Get some rest love. You need it." I tell her and with that she slowly closes her eyes and is asleep within seconds. "Chaz let's go talk with mr. Alpha and future alpha." He looks at me with an evil smirk and the look in his eyes told me everything. We walked out of the hospital and straight to the pack house. Here we come fuckers.
