It's just a few days to the birthday ceremony and they were short on staff due to the massive preparations which made everywhere seemed a bit rowdy. On the other side of town things wasn't funny for Jasmine the loan was overdue for payment, she had a meeting with the men and they were already warning her to pay up. After the meeting at the agreed venue she was heading downstairs so she could go home but it seemed they were having a party and everywhere was quite busy, she managed to squeeze out of the place since it was already dark she quickly head home, she was stressed out and needed rest but there wasn't any hope of her getting any because her stepmother started talking about marrying her off to a man she didn't even know. Jasmine my dear you're not a baby anymore and considering the financial status and your father's health I think marriage would be the best option. Mr Caleb Is divorced with kids but I assure you he's a very kind man and rich too, it was really stressful to get to him but he said he likes you so, I think you should marry him. Monica explained. I appreciate your efforts but I'm not interested in marrying Mr Caleb she said and walked out nonchalantly, she was too tired to start exchanging words with her stepmother so she decided to leave them alone. This brat is so annoying, how dare she walk out on me like that, that useless, bad luck child Monica spoke bitterly. Mom don't worry it's her loss anyways because it's only Mr Caleb that would even want to marry her, you should just let her be. By the way mum, we should go and pick a dress tomorrow, Chris is inviting me to the birthday party of Mrs Cassida she squealed excitedly, this is a dream come true I've always wanted to enter that Mansion but I've never gotten any invites and now this is a great opportunity mom I'm so happy. Annie said. I'm excited too my baby it's not everyday you get to be lucky to attend that kind of party she said excitedly. The preparations was still going on in the mansion, Cassida was strolling around the building then she decided to go and talk to her grandson for while, she got to his room and found him in his study. Ryan dear, I know you think grandma is starting to get annoying but want you to be happy when I'm no more. I'm not getting any younger and you've made me proud but I just want to see my grandchild before I leave and you seem a bit lonely too Cassida explained. Grandma you're very healthy and stop talking about how you're going to pass away and who said I needed a woman in my life to be happy. I have you and marriage is overrated so many people that are married aren't even happy at all and it's surprising how some people are still getting married I will go to the blind date if that's what you want but let's just leave marriage for now Ryan stated. Cassida wondered what would have made his heart so cold, he knew Ryan was quite withdrawn but why would anyone not want to get married she wondered. okay it's fine if you're into guys you can talk to me about it, Cassida asked again. Grandma I'm straight and I don't why you're even asking that question. Ryan said Then prove it and bring a wife home Cassida said and walked out of his room to continue the supervision of the decorations going on downstairs. The mansion was quite large and luxurious there was hall well furnished for occasions like this and so far the event planners were doing a great job with everything. Initially the party was strictly by invitation because people were coming from far and near to wish her well while some saw it as an opportunity to strike a business deal with her. But to Cassida it's a time to bring her family together once more and be happy the mansion is a lot more lonely than they think when no one is around. And even when she lost her dearest daughter and her husband she made it her responsibility to look after her grandkids instead of leaving them with one of the maids, she showed them love and catered for them, she was the only parent they had. But they grew up so fast. Carried away by business and education and different ways to give their life more meaning and she sure didn't neglect her son's children she loved them all equally.
