The next day Ryan was surprised the maid had informed him that his grandma wanted to see him. He quickly took a shower and dressed casually so he could go downstairs. he wondered what she wanted to talk about so early in the morning. He quickly went to the garden because he didn't want to keep her waiting. when Ryan saw her she didn't look pleased. he moved towards her and said goom morning grand ma, how was your night? my night was great. Ryan we need to talk, for a while now I know I have been reminding you that you aren't getting any younger, you need a partner, someone to share things with and I want this to happen before I eventually pass away, you work too hard all the time and I appreciate that but you need a life for yourself my son I want you to be...... I know, I know, you want me to be happy and I appreciate that but grandma I already told you I'm not ready yet and why are you talking about passing away, if I didn't know you I would think you're sixteen he said with a sly smile. Don't try to change the topic and if you keep behaving like this I would have no option than to believe what the people are saying. Grandma said with a frown on her face. what do you mean grandma? Well incase you don't know everyone thinks you're gay, it's disturbing because everyone actually believes it becomes you're always working with men. Cassida stated. common grandma You know me more than anyone else I'm straight I just keep avoiding the blind dates because I have been busy and those girls are too arrogant to be my bride I just want to take my time. Ryan knew how religious his grandma was. she was a devout Christian and therefore he didn't want to annoy her but Cassida didn't want to force any of her children or grandchildren to practice her religion because she believed should be free to do what they like so they can be responsible for their actions. Alright grandma I want to take you out for shopping Ryan said with a charming smile. Get married that's all I want from you Ryan. Cassida said and walked out of the garden. Ever since Cassida lost her daughter in a car crash she made it her responsibility to raise her grandkids with love but Ryan has totally withdrawn into a shell. He was successful no doubt and was any woman's dream but she feared when she dies no one would be able to convince to get married and she didn't want him to be lonely. she walked into her into her room while starring at the beautiful paintings on the wall. Ryan sighed frustratedly when he saw the caller id on his phone Vera. he answered the and Vera started talking. you didn't even bother to inform me that you were in town it's not fair I had to hear it from rumours so I called you to confirm. I'm still settling in Vera and I've been really busy. Vera was a friend of the family but she liked Ryan a lot too bad he didn't notice her efforts so she decided to stick around until he noticed the feelings she had for him. I'll be coming by later she quickly said and hung up before he had a chance to decline. Few hours later Vera walked the Scotts mansion. Grandma Cassida she screamed and quickly went to hug her. she was already an old woman but there was something about her that defied her years. Her face though marked with the gentle creases of age, still carried the softness and brightness of youth. fine lines Framed her eyes and mouth, but they only added to her charm, like a map of laughter and memories. Her skin though it had softened with time still had a smoothness to it, a healthy glow that made her seemed timeless, like the glow of someone who had taken care of herself. Grandma Cassida was both nice and sweet at the same time she was generous which made everyone love her. I brought you a gift, Vera said while holding out a cute little bag. you look stunning she complimented. Thanks dear, you shouldn't have bothered though. Thank you for coming to visit me but I know the main reason you're here she said with a wink. Ryan is in his room upstairs. How are your parents? she asked. They're fine grandma and they sent their greetings too she said. After some moments of exchanging pleasantries she said I'll go and see him upstairs now while heading for the stairs. she already knew her way around the mansion because she had been here many times she walked to his door and knocked on the door. There was no answer she sighed and knocked again. Then she casually said I'm coming in Ryan it's me Vera.
