Falling Apart
I hadn’t had the courage to look any longer and instead turned around and left the café. My mind was in shock from what I had witnessed. I walked back to the table and gathered my things.
“Ileana? Are you alright? Why are you crying?” Bernard asked.
I looked up at him and started to shake my head but then stop and felt my cheek. I was crying. I dropped the items I had gathered back on the table and sit down. I was having a hard time breathing and I knew Bernard was talking to me, but I couldn’t process any of it.
When I calmed down my breathing I looked up to see Reese and Bernard looking at me.
“Ileana are you alright? Should we take you to the hospital?” asked Reese.
I took a deep, “Yes…I’m fine. I just wasn’t to get out of here.”
