As soon as we got back to the castle and dropped from the car, I trotted back to the quarters.
I did not stop or look back.
But as soon as I was safely hidden behind one of the pillars and away from any eyes, I plastered myself to the wall and exhaled heavily.
I swallowed painfully, tears stinging my eyes.
“Well-done Aria,” I told myself.
For holding myself and putting my emotions under control even when it was the hardest thing to do.
Even though I felt Damon's eyes boring deep at me in the car, I maintained and didn't crumble before him.
“My Luna, you are back!”
Beatrice echoed behind me.
I hastily wiped my face and wore a smile before I faced her.
“Yes.”
“Would you like to take your dinner alone or wait for the Alpha to return?”
