Rogues

~Aria~ Tears rolled down my face as I curled myself in my bed. I knew it. I felt it. My wolf felt it. Our mate was fụcking another woman. How could we not feel it? If only I hadn't gone to thank him for helping me back at the pack tailor, then I wouldn't have witnessed that. Like a fool, I’d closed the door and left quietly. Like a woman desperate to hide her pain and shame, I begged the only maid I saw to help me leave without leaving any traces and never reveal that I was there. That way Damon would never know I was there or that I saw him or that I was broken by him! “What is it, my Luna,” Beatrice asked, walking in. “It's nothing,” I hastily said as I wiped my eyes. “How's Lisa?” I asked in a bid to channel the discussion elsewhere. “She's doing great.” “My Luna, are you alright?” She asked, peering suspiciously at me. But before I could respond, we heard the door. One of Bertha's maids entered. “You have a message,” she said, dumping a letter in Beatrice's palm. “It was mistakenly left in Lady Bertha’s pigeon hole.” I asked Beatrice to open the letter as soon as Bertha's maid was out. “My Luna!” Beatrice exclaimed as she read the letter. “It's–it’s–Lisa!” I snatched the letter from her quickly. My hands trembled at what I read. The next second I was hurrying out of bed. Lisa had been kidnapped! “My Luna, what are you planning to do?” Beatrice asked as I grabbed my jacket. “Rescue Lisa of course!” “What! This is dangerous! You don't know who these people that have kidnapped her are!” “I'm not letting anything happen to Lisa. Don't try to stop me.” “Please my Luna. Let's talk to the Alpha about it first. He would surely have a better option than you running into danger.” Alpha? The biggest joke. My wolf whimpered inside me as my fists curled. I swallowed painfully, suppressing the urge to tell her what I saw a few minutes ago. “Listen Beatrice, I can never allow anything to happen to Lisa. Moreover, it is my duty to protect the she-wolves of this pack as Luna. You have been calling me Luna, right? This is the time to do my duty as Luna.” Beatrice groaned. I bet she regretted ever calling me Luna. “But–” she tried to protest. “No buts, Beatrice.” “Goddess, I'm so scared. What if something bad happens…” “Inform the Alpha if I don't return in the next one hour,” I told her after a brief thought. Even though I knew he'd rather be fuvking his concubine than worry about me. “I'm telling him after one hour and please be careful!” Beatrice called after me as I stormed out of my chambers and out of the house. I flagged down a cab in front of the gate. “Redmoon bridge,” I told the driver. He looked at me with a deep frown. “Don't waste time please hurry up!” I barked at him, annoyed at his clumsiness. “Is this the Redmoon bridge?” I asked, confused, when he pulled up on an unfamiliar road where there was not a single bridge. “If you go that way, you'd see the Redmoon bridge.” He pointed to his right–a track road I had no idea where it led. I had more questions to ask but remembering that the more time I wasted, the more Lisa’s life was in danger, I jumped out of the cab and ran towards the direction he pointed me. From the track road through which I entered, to a thick forest. Still, I saw no sign of any bridge. “Oh goddess, please protect Lisa,” I prayed. The poor girl had just found her long lost sister. Nothing should ever happen to her. “She really came!” I turned sharply at the voice. Earlier my nose had picked up wolf's scents. Only that the owner of the voice whom I can clearly see the instant I turned, wasn't just a wolf. But a rogue wolf. From his looks, it was obvious he'd been wandering the woods and forests. “Get lost! I'm not here for you,” I sneered at him. “But I'm here for you,” he said, grinning and revealing his ugly set of teeth. Before I knew what was happening, more rogues came out from absolutely nowhere! And in a matter of seconds, I was surrounded, their thick rogue scent heavy in air. Goddess I had no time for chit chat with rogues when Lisa's life was in danger. I scanned around impatiently. What stupid Redmoon bridge was this letter talking about… “You are looking for Lisa, right?” One of them muttered, grabbing my attention. I looked at him but kept my mouth shut. For all I knew he could be trying to rage bait me. “You must have felt like a hero when you saved her dear teddy bear from that shaft right huh?” He said again. That was when it struck me. That these rogues were talking about Lisa. No one knew anything about what he just said except Lisa and I. I didn't even tell Beatrice the exact spot where I'd brought out the teddy from. “Where's Lisa? Are you the ones that kidnapped her? Did you write this letter!!” I snarled, my temper rising. The rogues erupted into mocking laughter. “Wow! You really ran all the way here to continue your heroics?” “I'm not here for chit chats with you! Where is Lisa!” I snapped, my teeth grating. “Oh Lisa? Lisa is safe. In the guest room of Alpha Damon,” he said with a smirk. “I don't believe you! Tell me where Lisa is right now!” I growled. My wolf was getting impatient as she clawed my walls to be let out. “We could never cross the gates of Redmoon so easily even if we wanted. So how could we have kidnapped this Lisa?” I blinked, the whole thing dawning quickly. “Then who wrote this letter…who gave this letter to me…” He smirked, his eyes glowing of his rogue wolf. “Lisa is safe. Thank goddess!” I muttered in relief. “But now you are not!” He sneered. At the same time, something heavy landed at the back of my head from behind. Pain coursed through me instantly. My eyes became dizzy as I reeled backwards trying to steady myself. From the same behind I was smacked hard again and kicked in my legs. I completely lost control of my body and fell on the ground. Everything was blurry and turning in circles. “Is this how I'm going to die?” The words rang in my head. Amidst the excruciating pain, I looked up. “Why did you send this letter to me…” I asked helplessly. At least if I was going to die here, I should at least know who wanted me dead. “We just want you dead,” he snarled. “Tie her up guys! We have our supper!” Their laughter echoed in the thick forest as they tied my legs. I tried to fight back. “Get up, Aria!” My wolf pranced inside me, willing me to fight. But my physical body was weak. “Wh–who sent you? Is it–Bertha? Who…” My eyes couldn't stay awake anymore as they snapped closed. Seconds later, I drifted into unconsciousness.
