Chapter 3

The alarm sounds at its usual time and I drag myself out of the bed, knowing I have a long day ahead of me. Place my long blonde hair into a sleek bun then put on my maid uniform and spray myself with a light scented perfume. Once I have finished getting ready, I head out the door for the maid’s quarters to get my list of duties. As I walk down the hall, I come to the royal family who seems lost in conversation. I stop immediately, bowing. I keep my head down to show my respect for the family. “You may rise, dear,” The Luna Queen announces. As I lift my head, my gaze lands on the Prince. I look away quickly. “Maid, could you please keep this between us that the Prince has returned early,” The Alpha King asked. I turn my gaze in the King’s direction but keep my gaze down. “Of course, Alpha King,” I replied, bowing. “Thank you, you may return to your duties” The Alpha king commands, and I bow one last time walking past as the Prince has his eyes on me the entire time. I hurry to Nigel’s office. As I enter, Nigel glares at me with irritation at being late. I only get in line to hear the rest of the announcements. “As you all know today the Prince arrives and his party is tonight, we all must do our best to work this event. Stacie, Glen, Ryan, Abigail, and Farrah, you will work the ballroom floor. The rest of you will be on kitchen duty.” He stands there looking at all of us for a moment. “That is all,” He waves his hand, and they scatter like ants. But before I can grab my list of duties, Nigel calls for me. “Farrah?” I face him again. “Yes, sir?” He folds his arms with frustration. “You were late, do you have an explanation for your tardiness?” “I’m sorry sir, the royal family stopped me in the hall,” I explain, and his expression changes to understanding. “The Luna Queen herself has asked me to put you in charge of all duties regarding her son the Prince and that you attend as a server for tonight’s festivities,” He holds his hand up telling me to wait while he goes to a nearby closet grabbing a large bag. He returns, handing it to me. The weight of the bag causes my knees to buckle. “You are to wear what is in the bag and do all instructions given.” I nod in agreement around the bag, hoping Nigel can see my agreement. “Yes, sir.” “You may go,” Nigel gestures towards the hall. I bow and leave quickly. As I’m on my way to my room, the bag is so large it covers my view, so I am walking down the hall blindly when I slam into something hard causing the bag to go flying and I fall on my ass. Without even glancing at what I hit, I frantically grab the things from the bag, picking up a pair of red lace panties. “Geez, what are they doing auctioning us off?” I say aloud when someone clears their throat. My eyes go wide. s**t! I dread looking up and find the Prince smiling down at me. I hurry to my feet, bowing. “I am so sorry, your high…” I pause. “Dax.” He chuckles. “It’s all right Miss, it was an accident,” He looks down at my hand which still holds the red lace underwear. I quickly hide it behind my back as my cheeks burn red. “Don’t be embarrassed we all have pleasures we seek,” his eyes linger over my body with an intense stare which in this uniform he couldn’t see much anyway, or maybe he has X-ray vision. My legs grow weak at his gaze. I quickly changed the subject. “I should get ready for the event tonight. I am truly sorry to have inconvenienced you,” I bow and hurry away. “Miss?” Dax calls. When I face him, he is holding up a strapless red lace bra to match the panties. I sigh then walk over to him. “Um, thanks,” My cheeks flushed. I grab it and take off as fast as possible to get away from this embarrassment. When I enter my room, I toss the bag on my bed and plop down in the chair. Why on earth do I have to wear this stuff to an event? I feel like a prostitute. I tell myself. I grab the bag pulling the contents out revealing a black lace cocktail dress with clear diamond stilettos and at the bottom is a note. “Please wear the dress along with the heels. Leave your hair down, pinning it to one side with the diamond beret we have provided for you. You must also wear red lipstick and red undergarments. Thank you, Your Luna Queen,” It reads. The door swings open and I can’t hold back my eye roll. “Hello, Stacie.” “Whatever,” She huffs, walking to the restroom without another word. I shrug and continue looking through the bag. Stacie finished getting ready, so I went to take a shower. Once I am done, I wrap myself in a towel and stare down at the red lingerie. “You can do this Farrah,” I encourage myself and pull them on then peek at myself in the mirror. “Hmm, not bad” I laugh and grab the black dress, pulling it up over my hips and zipping the back, then walk to my room sitting on my bed picking up the heels and placing them on when there is a knock at the door. “Come in, it’s open,” Relief washes over me when Aviana’s face peers around the door. “Oh, thank god,” I breathe. She laughs walking in and closes the door behind her. “Let me help you.” I nod with a smile. “Thanks.” Aviana starts by curling my hair then pinning it with the diamond beret. She then does a smokey eye with a maroon crease and gold lid. After she curls my lashes and puts on mascara, she outlines my plump lips with a maroon lip liner, then puts the red lipstick on and adds some highlights to my cheekbones with a light pink blush. “There, all done,” She beams proudly. I walk to the full-length mirror to get a peek, and I gasp with surprise at what I see. “Oh my god, is that really me?” Aviana laughs. “Um, yeah, you are gorgeous with or without the makeup,” She smiles. The black dress looks like it’s plastered to my body, hugging every curve and my hair flows down my shoulder reaching my hip bone. You can see my legs for days in this dress while the dress shows some cleavage, but not too over-the-top boobs hanging out everywhere. I grin at Aviana. “Thank you.” “Anytime, we are friends,” She grins, handing me a pair of diamond earrings. “A gift from me, I hope you like them,” She smiled. I pull her into a hug. “This means so much to me, thank you for always being here for me.” “Of course, now go out there and show Stacie who’s boss,” She said, and we both burst out laughing. Aviana left for the party and I finished up by spritzing myself with a white musk perfume and walking out, heading for the ballroom to get my orders. When I enter the ballroom, it is bustling with wait staff from the kitchen. Glen and Ryan walk around refilling glasses of champagne, but I don’t see Stacie or Abigail anywhere until the crowd moves away. I find them standing at the front with all the guests gawking at them like they are trophies. They wear fancy dresses showing all their beauty. What the hell? Nigel walks over, grabbing my arm and pulling me over to where the other girls stand. “Nigel, what is going on?” He ignores me and places me next to Abigail, walking away before I can ask any more questions. The girls stay quiet and stare straight ahead. “Abigail?” She doesn’t answer me either. What the f**k is going on? I’m so confused. “Shut up, Farrah,” Stacie spat. not glancing in my direction. I stay quiet, understanding that this is to help soldiers and their families, but why didn’t they just ask me to do it. “Good evening, my guests, thank you for spending this special night with us as we hand over the title to our son the Prince. Tonight we will auction off these beautiful ladies for a date night if you pay the right price you may do whatever you would like with the women,” The Alpha King announces. My heart drops and panic sets in. Oh, hell no, they won’t. I think to myself. I move forward to walk out, but a guard pushes me back in line and Dax lets out a deep growl. The guard bows apologetically and I stare at him, confused. One man steps forward, c*****g his head while he looks me over. A smirk appears on his face. “I like this one she seems feisty and fierce. She would be a lot of fun,” He reaches out to touch me, and I back against the wall. “Enough, hasn’t your mother ever told you to never play with your food,” Prince Dax said annoyed, and the man respectfully backed off. The Alpha King clears his throat. “Shall we continue?” He glances around. “Alright let’s start the bidding with Abigail.” The bidding war goes on for over an hour when both of the other girls are bought. It was my turn. The hairs on my neck stand. I just want to run away. This is not what I am here for. I am a maid. “This beautiful young woman is Farrah Knight, she is a top maid here at the Palace. We will start the bidding at $20,000,” He announces, and the crowd goes crazy. “$22,000,” The man from earlier called. “$24,000,” another shouted. “$30,000,” The man returned proud of himself. I am terrified at this point that the man will win and do whatever he wants with me. He does not seem like a man who is against raping me. “1 Million,” A familiar voice echoes over the crowd and the Prince appears. The man huffs with irritation, throwing a scowl towards the prince. “I’m out.” “Me too,” The other said. “Prince Dax is the winner,” The Alpha King announces, raising his glass of champagne to his son. “Congratulations!” The crowd cheers along with the royals and Dax stares at me with a nod, holding up his beer in cheers then takes a swig, turning and walking away. Why did he just pay 1 Million for me?
