After I hung up, I felt something cold slide down against my collarbone. The proposal ring. The one Ivan had slipped onto my finger when we were kids, promising that one day he'd marry me. I slowly took it off. Then I placed it together with the new ring and the bank card in front of him. "You said I should leave. Fine. You'll get what you want." His expression froze.
