🌌 The Whispering Stones Episode 3: The World Beneath the Roots Kael’s eyes blinked open into a world that didn’t feel real. He was standing on a floating cliff, surrounded by sky, mist, and islands that hung in the air like drifting lanterns. Rivers of glowing silver water flowed between them, defying gravity. Trees towered into the clouds, their trunks carved with glowing runes. The air pulsed with energy. A place of silence, yet alive with hidden voices. > “Welcome, Listener.” Kael turned sharply. A tall figure emerged from the mist—a woman cloaked in silver feathers, her hair long and moon-pale. Her eyes glowed with faint violet light. “I am Elaria, Keeper of the Stones,” she said. “And you, Kael of Elmsworth, are the last of your kind.” Kael stared. “My kind?” She nodded slowly. “The Listeners. But when the Shadow King rose… they fell.” Kael’s voice shook. “Shadow King?” Elaria’s expression darkened. “Vaemor. A creature born of silence and greed. He tried to steal the voices of the stones, to silence the world and make it his own.” She pointed behind Kael. He turned to see a vast darkness on the horizon—creeping like storm clouds, swallowing light. “Thalurea, this realm beneath your world, is dying,” she said. “Only a Listener can awaken the Heartstone and restore the balance.” Kael swallowed. “But I don’t know how.” “You will,” she said gently. “The earth remembers. And it remembers you.” Suddenly, the ground beneath Kael shifted. Vines of light crept up his arms. His feet lifted from the stone, and a flood of voices surged through his mind. Ancient, gentle, powerful. And then—a single, clear whisper: > “The trials await.” ---
