Alpha Roman

1390 Words
The Pack house was eerily quiet as Livy walked down the hallway, following Luna Louise. The only sound is their heels clicking as they walk. Livy, feeling rather self-conscious, is highly aware of how loud it seems in the hall. Amethyst? Livy spoke with her wolf. "I am here. Always here." I don't know why we are here, I'm worried something has happened. "Walk tall, you are a Lycan. Stronger than any one here, and you should act as such. There is nothing to fear here, and if there should be I will protect us." Livy felt calmer knowing that Amethyst would be there. She wasn't alone no matter where she was. She could feel the power surging in her blood, ensuring she would be safe. Livy held her head high as the doors opened. Luna Louise walked first, smiling as she locked eyes with her husband. He returned the smile, looking at her with an unbreakable desire. As Alpha Roman looked at Livy, his smile faded and a different look shown in his eyes, one Livy didn't quite recognize. Concern maybe? She wasn't sure. "Livy Creedle, welcome." Alpha Roman's voice was deep and velvety. Livy looked around the room, to see the entire council was present. Agatha stood in a corner her head down, her shoulders drooped, defeatedly, shackles on her wrists. Something was definitely wrong. "Sit" He commanded, gesturing towards an open chair. "We have much to discuss." Livy sat, again an awkward silence filled the room. Luna Louise took her place on the right of Alpha Roman who remained standing. She gave Livy a small smile but held venom in her eyes. "After the incident at school, it has come to our attention, you have been hiding your wolf. We would like to know why." "I didn't know until today, she took over when she saw Raine." Livy said honestly, fear creeping back in. The council began to whisper. "So you condemn Agatha?" "What? No! For what?" Livy demanded. How had she condemned Agatha. Her caretaker, the one who had cared for her and loved her. What was happening. "Agatha has been tested, given a truth serum as she is not a wolf and we cannot mindlink to find the truth. She knew about your wolf when you first arrived. You are saying you did not, so she hid this from you as well." "Please, Alpha it is not what you think." Livy stumbled, pleading. "She did nothing wrong." "Not what I think? Not a secret being kept from me for 7 years, about your origins, a danger to my entire pack?" Alpha Roman slammed his fist down on the table. His power, crashing over Livy, in waves. The council bowed their heads. Livy pushed back, wanting to defend Agatha. The surprise in the Alpha's eyes as she stood up pushing back his power. "Let her go and get the letters. You will see." "No! It is too late. You have both endangered this pack, broken our trust after we allowed you to stay." Livy could feel Amethyst rising, ready to attack. Though they had never shifted, Livy knew Amethyst wanted to show herself. "Let me talk to him, alone," Amethyst told her. Livy allowed her wolf to shine through. Gasps around the room were deafening, Livy could see the fear in their eyes. She was different and no one liked different. Amethyst blocked her out of the conversation as she spoke to Alpha Roman's wolf. When they were done, Alpha Roman sat down. Livy sat after he did wondering what was said. He waved his hand and an omega rushed to him, holding a red envelope sealed with gold. He opened the envelope and read allowed. "Blue Lunar Pack, the Moonstone castle is requesting one female from each pack to attend the Luna festival. We have selected each female by name. We are sending carriages for them at once. Be ready." Alpha Roman looked at Livy. "They are asking for you." "Moonstone castle?" Livy almost whispered. Where was that, who was that? Could it be her parents? Were they sending for her early? "The Lycan King is alive and now collecting females to become the next Luna. Agatha will go with you. She is banished from this pack." Livy heard a sniffle from Agatha. Livy knew her heart was breaking, her mate would be ashamed. And it was all Livy's fault. She found the cottage 7 years ago, hoping someone would help her. She had wandered for days, losing track of directions, and where home was. Now she was being called back for a test? Agatha was losing everything, and now all those letters could be false. Tears rose in Livy's eyes. Alpha Roman sent her and Agatha to pack their things. The transport was a day away so they needed to get everything they could, as quickly as possible. "Agatha, I am so sorry." Livy cried as they got in the car. Agatha rubbed her wrists, red from the shackles, then started the car. "Don't fret dear, you are worth all of it. And now we get to go together." "But your home, everything you love is here." Agatha laughed at Livy's comment. "No dear, what I loved died long ago, all I have here is you. I kept you protected as long as I could. Maybe I'll be rewarded when we get there." Agatha chuckled again, though sadness laced her voice. Her memories were once again all she had. They arrived at the cottage after a short drive. Living a humble life was beneficial when packing quickly. "Agatha, do you think they will recognize me?" "Of course child, they are your parents." "Then why are they calling others to come? They always sent letters to us before. They know I'm here." "I don't know child. We will have to see what comes." Livy needed air. This was not how she imagined going home. They said they would come for her. Not invite her with a bunch of other girls, and to a festival? A festival for a Luna? The realization almost knocked her to the ground. What if? No, it can't be. Her mother couldn't have... no, no, no, she had to be there. Still be alive. The King didn't need a Luna, he needed an heir. Suddenly a scent hit Livy, one she wasn't familiar with but the most enticing scent she had ever smells. She sniffed again, like crisp apples, fir, and vanilla. Whoever it was smelled like Christmas in the cottage. Then she saw him, standing tall, proud, on the edge of the woods. Six foot four at least and muscles ripped as if wanting to escape his skin. He wore no shirt, a pair of black leather pants and black boots. His six pack looked entirely lickable to Livy. Half in the shadows half visible he stared back, but didn't move. Livy sniffed again, it was his scent that was calling to her. She wanted to run to him. But that was silly wasn't it? Livy had never felt so out of control before. Amethyst came alive, wanting to get closer to him, to find out who he was, and why he was here. She took a step towards him as if being pulled by a string. Amethyst suddenly jumped with excitement. "It's him, Liv, it's him." Amethyst jumped liked a puppy wanting to quite literally break out of Livy's skin and go to him. "Mate!" Livy couldn't resist, Amethyst's joy was overflowing and contagious. Beyond all reasonable thoughts, Livy wanted to run to him as well. If this was her mate, he would love her, and care for her, like Lucas for Bella. She would be whole with him at her side. She walked slower than she wanted to towards the woods. Towards what would be her greatest adventure yet. As she stepped within 10 feet of him. She saw guilt flash in his eyes. Livy stopped dead in her tracks. Amethyst immediately went on gaurd but it was too late. Ropes and chains of silver flew from the woods. Livy was trapped, screaming as the silver touched her skin. His scent still lingered, but he was gone. Amethyst whimpered, heart broken that he would do this. Suddenly everything went black, and Livy slumped over.
