Chapter 16 - Please Stay

I finally open my eyes and realized I was not in the cottage anymore.  I looked around the room the light was dimmed… I tried to move my head but it still heavy, an IV was attached at the back of my hands and my breathing supported by an oxygen.  I see a lot of monitors beeping around.

The door opens and a young man in a blue uniform came in holding a tray in his hands.  When he looked at me, he went back out and told the woman standing with her back on the door  “He’s awake” and went back in.  The woman in white which seems to be the doctor came in and smile at me.

“So, Mr. Aaron Wesley you’re finally awake” she told me.  She is a beauty, long dark lashes, her hair was tied in a tight bun, perfectly white teeth and a lean body. She smiled at me my eyes still half closed.

“I’m your doctor Ruth Forster, your parents would be happy to know you’re awake now” She holds my eyelids and flicker a light ask me to move my eyeballs from left to right and do the same with my other eyes.  She asked me to raise my right hand which I tried but couldn’t and same with the left and I did.

“What… wh… what happen?” I manage to ask

“You passed out. Too much alcohol in your body, your heart wasn’t able to handle the stress… we have not checked the reason why such thing happen but you’re still lucky they found you in time” she said

“Wh—who?” I asked her. “The camp patrols… Harry Thurman called them, your Dad said you were not answering his calls.

I remember what happen. I closed my eyes as I felt the pain in my chest.  “Aaron… Aaron stay with me, please stay…” she said as he holds both my shoulders and try to wake me up, murmuring something to the nurse and I felt the injection was being shot on my chest. “Oh no no… Please don’t leave me…” I heard a woman's voice say….  I still hear the machines beeps but slowly fading. “Thank God” she said.

I was too tired to open my eyes again. I felt a soft hands on top of mine and soft lips pressed on my forehead “good boy… now you have some more rest… I’ll be back”
