The night went by slow but that's because I didn't sleep well. When I saw that the sun was finally rising I got out of the tent. Nobody else was awake yet.
I walked over to the camp fire to start it. There wasn't much wood left so I walked further into the forest to find some. While looking for firewood I heard footsteps.
The footsteps got closer then closer then finally I stopped walking, turned around and hit someone with one of the pieces of wood.
"Ow!!" Erin said," What was that for?"
"Who told you it was a good idea to sneak up on a girl in the middle of the forest!" I said," Man your dumb."
"Can you stop being rude?" Erin asked.
"Not possible," I said while picking up the firewood that I dropped.
"What are you even doing out here?" Erin asked again as if he could not see that I was getting firewood.
"Can you give me a favor," I said getting annoyed," And SHUT UP."
Erin looked at me shocked then shut up. As I was picking up the rest of the firewood, me and Erin heard more footsteps. I looked over to Erin then put the firewood down quietly.
"Shh," I said quietly.
Erin looked at me worried but didn't say anything. We both walked towards the sound, yep we're idiots! The closer we got, the louder the noise was. For a minute everything seemed to stop. There was no noise coming from the crickets or birds. Even the wind seemed to have stopped. Then a flash came. Nothing fancy about it besides that it was just a random flash. Next thing I know is I'm standing in front of a tree with two people fighting behind me. When I turn around I see Erin but it wasn't just Erin. I was still pretty out of it but when I looked closer I saw Kai.
"What the hell?" I softly yelled.
"Amara?" Erin and Kai both said as they stopped fighting.
They were both looking at me in shock. Then I started feeling dizzy so I sat down which caused both of them to run over to me. They were both trying to talk to me but it was like I couldn't hear a word they were saying.
"What happened to you?" Erin asked while waving his hands in front of my face trying to get my attention.
"Earth to Amara!!" Kai tried saying louder.
Those were the only two sentences I could understand. After a couple minutes I stood up or at least tried. I tripped as soon as I stood up but Erin caught me in time. Everything was starting to go back to normal but I still couldn't wrap my head around what had just happened.
"Hey, hey, hey!" Erin said calmly," Look at me. Can you hear me?"
I nodded my head in which Erin and Kai both sighed with relief.
"What the actual hell was that?" I questioned now more confused then usual.
"You tell us," Kai said.
"You didn't see that flash?" I asked looking over to Erin. He shook his head.
Kai stood up while Erin followed his movement. Erin held out his hand for me to grab but I pushed it away.
In my mind I was going crazy. How did he not see that flash? And why exactly were those two fighting?
"Wait, why were you guys fighting?" I asked while standing up. This time I didn't feel like I was gonna fall down.
"Why don't we get you back to camp?" Erin said," Who knows, Jay and Rue and the others are probably worried. We've been out here a long time."
Erin and Kai were ahead of me. While walking it seemed like everything had stopped again but this time it was only for a couple seconds. I looked ahead to where I saw Erin and Kai. I walked a little faster to see if I could hear what they were talking about. When I got closer I heard Erin say something...
"Maybe I should just kill you right here, right now," Erin said.
"Hey, woah," I said before they could say anything else," What the hell are you talking about. Why do you want to kill him?"
"Why else?" Erin said," He's a vampire. He also part of the family that killed your pack."
"First off," Kai said," I had nothing to do with that. And second, who knows I could be a hybrid and you wouldn't even know it."
"Well are you?" Erin asked.
"Well no," Kai said," But that's not the point."
"Technically it is," Erin said," What...."
"Both of you shut up!" I said louder," You both bickering is really starting to get annoying."
Before we knew it we were walking towards the fire at the camp where Rue, and the others were waiting. I didn't go to the fire but instead to where I put the phoenix book. Maybe the book will have answers to my questions.
Kai's P.O.V
Not gonna lie, I really don't like this Erin guy. If it weren't for Amara one of us probably would've been killed back there ( wouldn't of been me ). We walked through the camp, towards the fire but Amara went somewhere else, I wonder if she's okay or if she's mad at me.
"Who's this?" One of the other girls asked.
"What's wrong with Amara?" The other girl asked.
"More like what is he?" One of the guys asked.
"I got a name," I said.
"Well I'm Rue, that's Jay," Rue said," So what's your name?"
"Just stay away from him," I heard Erin say to one of the guys.
I really didn't like staying places where people hate me.
"It's Kai," I said trying to keep my anger under control," Um, can one of you just tell Amara that I left. I don't really think I should be here."
"Finally something we both agree on," Erin said.
Back to Amara's P.O.V
I swear I looked at the book at least three times and still couldn't find anything about what happened. Then I realized that Kai was here with 4 wolves, in which one of them knew about his family. I ran out of the tent to the fire where I saw Kai leaving.
"Hey! Wait." I said running towards Kai.
"What?" Kai said but there was something wrong," You want to throw me at another tree? Go for it."
"Why'd you come here if all you are gonna do is be a complete d**k to me?!?" I asked.
"I don't even know," Kai said, and again I could tell he wasn't saying everything.
He turned around and started walking again but I grabbed a hold of his arm. He flinched at the touch which only told me that something was really wrong.
"Just let little vamp go," Erin shouted.
"Shut your stupid wolf up," I said without thinking then turned to say something to Kai," What's wrong? That's the first time I've seen you flinch."
"You still mad?" Kai asked quietly.
At first I didn't know what he was talking about but then I remembered the crystal.
"You didn't mean it, did you?" I asked," Either way. That's not why you came here. What's up?"
"I really would rather not get killed by little wolves over there," Kai said.
Erin heard us then said," We couldn't kill you even if we tried."
"Not true," I said.
"Really," Erin said with a smirk on his face," So I could easily rip you apart."
"You say one more thing," I said angerly," And I'll rip you to shreds. Now shut it!"
Nobody said anything but Kai started walking towards the forest again but this time I walked in front of him.
"Okay then," I said," I guess we're going for a walk. Jay and Rue make sure they don't mess with anything."
Jay and Rue nodded their heads then turned back to the fire. I grabbed Kai's arm before he could walk any further. He tried to make me let go but it didn't work. There wasn't many places in the woods that I've discovered so I thought about going to the waterfall. It wasn't that far from the camp but it was the only place I've seen that was completely covered and that was hard to find. It took about twenty minutes or so to get there.
Kai kept acting like he didn't want to follow so I pretty much dragged him through the forest. By time we got to the waterfall, Kai stepped towards the water.
"Is this where you finally kill me?" Kai asked.
"Really?" I asked shocked," Is that really what you think I want to do?"
"Well you got some good reasons to," Kai said.
"i***t!" I replied," I'm not gonna kill you. Now seriously why'd you come to my camp."
"I didn't think anyone else would be there," Kai said," And it don't really matter anyways."
"Yes it does!" I exclaimed.
As Kai was about to say something else, I pushed him into the water. Well let's hope he knows how to swim.
A couple seconds passed and Kai came swimming up.
"So you are gonna kill me?" Kai asked again.
"So you do know how to swim?" I asked jokingly," No! I am not gonna kill you, now will you quit asking that."
"Are you gonna swim or what?" Kai asked.
"Nah, I don't know how," I said which in return Kai looked really shocked.
Kai swam towards land. While he was walking up towards me, I started thinking. If Kai isn't a full vampire then why is he always risking his life.
"Hello!" Kai said trying to get my attention," You know, you space out a lot."
"You know, you're really annoying," I said.
"And so I've been told," Kai said while sitting on the ground next to me.
"Why do you always risk your life?" I asked, Kai looked at me with a look on his face that I couldn't tell," Especially when you can be killed so easy."
"Because it's fun," Kai replied then asked," How do you not know how to swim?"
"Never really went swimming," I answered.
"Really?" Kai asked shocked, looking over at me.
"Are you gonna tell me why you came to my camp?" I asked.
"I didn't mean anything I said the last time you saw me," Kai said which confused me," I.. Uh.. I really don't know why I said any of it. And you're not a freak, I especially didn't mean that. Um.. I... ugh.."
"Really?" I asked looking at Kai which cause him to look away," Is that all?"
"Uh... yep," Kai said hesitantly.
"Then let's get going back to my camp," I said.
"Nope sorry, can't," Kai said.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Like I said," Kai explained," I'd rather not get killed."
"Ugh come on," I said standing up," I'll make sure the other wolves don't say or do anything to you. Okay?"
"Okay fine," Kai said," Again I didn't mean anything I said about you."
"Yes I know," I said.
Me and Kai started walking away from the waterfall and I noticed that Kai was still soaked from me pushing him in.
"Are you cold?" I asked.
"Nope, I'm fine," Kai said.
Uh, huh sure. I focused on the magic inside my bones, felt a rush through my blood and got the wind to pick up enough to dry Kai off. I took in a deep breath to help control my magic then exhaled to slow the wind down. The wind then stopped and Kai was now dry.
"You got your magic under control?" Kai asked.
"I guess so, at least some what under control," I explained.
That was the first time that I've successfully used my magic. After a couple minutes I started to feel dizzy.
"You okay?" Kai asked.
"I.. uh," I said but fell to the ground before I could finish what I was saying.
The last thing I remember before blacking out was Kai calling my name. Then I saw the same flash that led to me blacking out .
