Ella did not hesitate. She spun and moved to Jake, who was still slumped in the chair. As Ella reached down and touched him to try and get the handcuffs off him, Jake’s eyes opened, and he lunged at her. Ella jumped back and put her hands up in surrender.
There was growling and a crash behind her as the Luna’s momentum had managed to push the Alpha backwards off the stage and into the crowd.
Ella prayed that the crowd would not get involved.
Jake took one look at Ella and seemed to relax, but then a look around for panic crossed his face. “Behind you!” Was all he had time to get out before a pair of strong arms wrapped around Ella from behind.
