Ella froze where she stood. Was that all she was to anyone? A paycheck? She simply had dollar signs printed on her forehead. The words stung, but she stayed steady where she was and showed no outward sign of the shock or hurt. Then Ella thought of her parents.
"Is that why he kidnapped my parents? He wanted to make sure that I did what he wanted?" She blurted out letting her emotions get the better of her.
