Stanley is waiting in his brand new convertible, when she leaves the ice cream shop. Megan is a little nervous. Stanley opens the car door for her; he is a perfect gentleman.
Stanley drives Megan around the old neighborhood and by the high school. They talk the entire time. They have a lot to tell the other about themselves. Megan has never parked and made out with a boy before. In fact, she has not made out with a boy anywhere before. Stanley is so mature and sure of himself, Megan wonders if he might be thinking of parking someplace…she hopes he will.
When they get back to the shopping center where the ice cream shop is located, it is after eleven…the place is deserted. He parks near Megan’s car, in a spot away from the parking lot lights. He asks her, “Can you stay a little longer?”
