Shanna POV

“Who are you? Why are you in my room?” I see a tall figure standing in the shadow of my room. My heartbeat is beating so hard. I feel like my heart is about to jump out of my chest.

“You are mine Shanna! You will always be mine. You can’t fight it.” He whispers in his deep voice. “I will have you one way or another. You will be mine.” It is destined he whispers.

“Who are you? I belong to no one!” I reply trying to calm my raging heart.

“We will see my love. I am coming for you.” His voice comes out louder this time.

Before I knew it the shadow of the man was gone. The only thing I can hear is my name echoing through my head.

“Shanna….. Shanna come on wake up!” I hear a soft feminine voice call out. I open my eyes to see Gemma my childhood friend sitting on my bed. I feel the sweat dripping down my neck as I sit up.

“Shanna are you alright?” Gemma’s voice snapping me out of my sleepy state.

“Gemma? Sorry I had the weirdest dream. It felt so real.” I replied

“It must have been a real doozy. You were talking in your sleep. I tried to wake you up for a good five minutes.” Gemma chuckled.

“What time is it anyways?” I whisper out my throat feeling dry.

“Girl it is already 9:00am. You missed training this morning. Vince was worried since you never miss. Plus you didn’t responded to our mind links.” Gemma replied.

Shit it is already nine o’clock? I jump out of bed running to my closet. I grab a pair of navy blue dress slacks and a white silk short sleeve dress top. I also grab my lacy white bra and underwear. Heading out of the closet I see Gemma staring at me.

“So where is the fire at?” Gemma laughs out. “Why the rush you already missed training?”

“I have a meeting at 10:30am with some of the Alpha’s in the surrounding areas for the moonlight mating ceremony coming up.” I reply “I can’t be late. Plus you know how they will react to me being late. Using it against me when I become Alpha. They want me to fail. They think me unfit to run a pack since I am a women.” I rolled my eyes as I reply.

Some of these Alpha’s are so stuck in the past. Always saying women of alpha blood are not fit to run packs. We are only good enough to be luna’s to the male alpha’s. They think we are only good enough to breed them strong heirs to their packs. I laugh out loud even thinking about it. I know so many luna’s who can run their mates pack better then they can. Yes they do let their luna’s help make decisions but when it comes down to it they are the final say. The male alpha’s are keeping some of the old laws in place that should have been changed years ago. This is to prevent us female alpha’s from reaching our full potential. Their other reasons are that they won’t leave their packs to submit to a female alpha.

I plan to change this way of thinking by showing them when I do find a mate or my mate that we can make it work whether we combined our packs or we rule both together. If the humans can rule vast amounts of land we can too.

“f**k those alpha’s! We both know you are going to make an amazing alpha Shanna. They are just intimidated that this will open doors for other female alpha’s to take over packs.” Gemma says with pride written on her face.

“Well lets hope I can convince the younger alpha’s to be on my side. It will make it a lot easier to make the changes needed.” I reply.

“Well we all know you have Alpha Scott’s vote. You know he is freaking hot right and is totally into you.” Gemma winks at me.

“Gemma…. You and I know Alpha Scott is just a friend. I am not looking for my mate or a mate in that matter. I have to much to prove then to be caught up in a romance that will probable go no where. Plus we all know his reputation. He has been with so many women. I can’t take him seriously.” I retort.

“Shanna are you using that as an excuse to not get close to a man. We both know you have done this all your life. Every time a man shows interest in you; you run away or should I say you ghost them!” Gemma replies.

“I don’t ghosts them Gemma. I just know it will not work out. Why start something that will go no where. Plus I don’t want to lead them on showing hope where there is none.” I snap back.

“Sureeeeee…… Keep telling yourself that Shanna. Remember Mark from college? He was such a nice guy and all he wanted was to take you to dinner and what did you do you ghosted him. You even told him you had a boyfriend when we all knew you didn’t. You never let a man get close. I was shocked to see you hanging out with Scott last Friday! I think you have a thing for him whether you want to admitted it or not something is there girl.” Gemma responses.

“Look I feel a bond with Scott thats all like a friend nothing more. So don’t get any ideas Gemma! I mean it no meddling in my love life again. Remember last time you tried to hook me up with someone? It was a disaster!” I laugh out.

“Ya ya ya…. I get it. No Cupid shit.” Gemma laughs out. “I guess I will let you get ready. I will catch you later then. Tell Alpha Scott he has a nice ass for me.” Gemma giggles well walking out of my room.

“She does have a point Shanna. Alpha Scott does have a nice ass and his wolf Peter looks great when he was stretching the other day.” Lila purrs….

“Great not you too Lila. Keep your horny thoughts to yourself.” I say well getting into the shower.

“Hey I know you are thinking it! I just said it out loud.” Lila barks.

“Yes Alpha Scott is very good looking okay but so was David from the summit! Do you remember your thoughts on him? You wanted to jump his bones the second you saw him.” I rolled me eyes well washing the conditioner out of my hair.

“Hey David was a dream boat okay. You never let us have fun! It is always business and no pleasure.” Lila pout’s

“David was an asshole just like his dad. He just wanted to get into our pants. Why are you so horny all the time?” I snap back.

“I wouldn’t be if you would allow us to have a bit of fun with these delicious men. You know we don’t have to take them seriously right? Hell males do it all the time why can’t we.” Lila growls out.

“You know why! We are a alpha female and we have to much to prove. They won’t take us seriously if we sleep around.” I reply.

“Fine you are right. It just sucks that we can’t scratch the itch ya know what I mean.” Lila huffs out.

“Lol ha ha ha ha Lila I swear the s**t you say. Once we become alpha and show these male alphas what a true alpha female can do is when I will let you scratch that itch. Okay? So behave Lila” I reply with a laugh.

“Fine fine…. I get it.” She replies.

I quickly get changed into the clothes I picked out. I placed my long blond hair into a high sleek bun and put on some eyeliner and a bit of pink blush and rose lip stick. I went with a simple but classic look to enhance my facial features. I grab a pair of pointed white heels and head down to the kitchen on the first floor.

“Hey girls! Did you all make sure to have the meeting hall setup? I want to make sure there is plenty of snack and coffee.” I announce to omegas in the kitchen.

“Good morning Shanna! We have everything setup as you requested yesterday.” Rose replied.

“Thank you so much Rose! You girls are amazing.” I reply as I make my way to the meeting room in our pack house which is located on the second floor.

Luckily I am running thirty minutes early. I place all the packets I had made yesterday placing them around the table. When I hear my father walk in.

“Hey princess! You look lovely today.” My father says.

“Thanks Daddy! Have our guests arrived yet?” I reply walking over to give him a hug.

“No not yet. We should head down as they should be getting here shortly.” He replies.

As we walk down I see a familiar face. Alpha Scott and his beta are sitting in the common room.

“Alpha Scott, I am so sorry we were not down here to greet you when you arrived.” I announce as my farther and I enter the room.

“Shanna…. Alpha Josh, Please do not apologize we came earlier then planned. Also Shanna please call me Scott there is no need to be so formal now that we are close friends.” Scott replies with a wink.

“Shanna, Why don’t you take Alpha Scott to the meeting room. Beta Vince needs to touch base with beta Chance on how the program is going with our security system. I will wait here to greet the other alpha’s.” My father says.

“Sure, Scott if you want to follow me and I will take you to the meeting room.” I look over to see Scott is already by me.

No wonder girls throw themselves at him. He looks handsome there is no doubt about that. His black button down dress shirt showing off his toned chest; hugging all his muscles and showing off his slim waist. He paired it with black slacks which showed that amazing ass that Gemma and Lila wouldn’t shut up about. Great those horny bitches are making me think like them. Come on Shanna get your head straight. He is a friend and we do not think of friends this way. Gosh maybe Lila is right! Maybe I need to get laid. If not I need to really pull out the old toys to get myself straight. Not noticing I have been staring at him a little to long.

“Did you miss me beautiful?” Scott whispers into my ear taking me out of s****l thoughts.

Feeling my cheeks turning bright red stuttering to reply “Uhhhh…. I….. Of course I missed my friend.” I finally was able to stammer out. God this was embarrassing. Get it together Shanna I say to myself.

“Well shall we.” I start walking down the hall in a rush to escape his stare. This is going to be a long meeting I think to myself.

Scott POV

I was so excited to see Shanna again that I made my beta Chance leave early so I had more time with her. I haven’t seen her in about a week. I missed everything about her. I was in a bad mood all week. Even my beta Chance noticed.

“Thank the goddess you are seeing Shanna today. You are driving us all crazy with your mood swings!” Chance says giving me a look.

“f**k you Chance! You know how much I have wanted Shanna. You know what she means to me.” I reply.

Chance and me have grown up together. He is my best friend and knows that I have wanted to be with Shanna since I was a teen. I have worked hard to be her equal; to be able to deserve her. She was my dream mate and I waited long enough to shoot my shot with her.

“Have you even got out of the friend zone yet?” He shoots a wink at me.

“I am working on it okay. She is different from other girls. I don’t want to ruin it. She means to much to me.” I respond.

Shanna was something different I knew it from the first day I saw her. If I have any chance with her I knew I would have to prove to her that I am worthy of her. I was so happy she let me in that day when I came to visit. I knew it was a risk for me to show up on the anniversary of her mothers death. Yet once I spoke to my father he gave me the courage to put myself out there. I knew she could have reject the idea of me being there yet I felt it brought us closer together. I hope she will continue to open up her heart to me as I keep falling for her.

“Why don’t you just tell her the truth? You have nothing to lose man. If you really want her you should let her know.” Chance replies.

“I don’t know man. What if she rejects me. I wanted to build our relationship first. Specially if we are not mates. I wanted to see if where she stood on the whole mates thing. I know that she is the one for me. I don’t care about the bond.” I say looking at Chance.

“Who knows bro what if you guys are mates? I mean you have been drawn to her since you met her years ago. You won’t know until the moonlight mate ceremony coming up anyways. You might as well just tell her how you feel about her. What if she finds her mate there and you never told her how you feel.” Chance breaths out.

Fuck he is right. I need to tell Shanna how I feel about her. I need to spend as much time with her before the moonlight ceremony. I think I am going to suggest our warriors training together for the warrior tournament thats coming up in a couple of weeks. This will give me the time to build up our relationship and then I can tell her how I truly feel. That I want her to be my mate and the mother of my pups. I will speak to her after the meeting today.

“Ya, I think you are right Chance. I am going to tell her before the moonlight ceremony.” I breath out.

“I am telling you brother it is better to be honest with her. Let her decided and if it is meant to be it is meant to be.” Chance pats my shoulder.

“I still want to spend as much time with her as possible to build on our bond. So when we get to the White Peak Pack we need to speak to beta Vince and Alpha Josh to see if we can train together for the tournament coming up. This will give me the time I need with her.” I reply.

“Sure thing boss. I will check in with Vince plus they wanted to touch base with how the new security system is working out.” Chance replies.

As we pull up to the White Peak Pack I can’t get Peter to shut up. He is so excited to see Lila that all he is doing is talking my head off.

“Scott do you think Lila missed me?” Peter barks out.

“Well buddy I hope that Lila and Shanna missed us both as much as we missed them.” I replied.

“Think they will want to go for a run. I want to lay with Lila at the lake again or the water fall.” Peter replies with such excitement.

“Well lets not push our luck okay. She might be busy. Plus we are here for business not pleasure.” I tell Peter. Even tho secretly all I want to do is spend time with her even if it is only business.

“We should invite them to our packs barbecue this weekend.” Peter barks out.

“Actually thats a great idea Peter. I will ask her if she wants to come for the weekend. She can check up on the security system or we can ask her too.” I tell Peter.

Once we park in the front of the pack house I have to say I was always impressed with how they designed it. The pack house is made up of mostly windows in a very modern look thats seven stories high. It looks like it was made to capture the beauty of nature around it. Instead of a eye sore of a concrete building. The windows are made so you can see out but not inside with a special glass that does not show a glare nor does it blind you. It also has massive wall gardens on the sides of the building. I knew they were big on echo friending building and technology. Which shows on all of the pack grounds. This is why they are the top packs on the continent. They were always willing to invest in better living for all pack members and have built massive business that support the growth. Thats why I made sure to build up my pack by expanding and investing to promote not just financial growth but a better way of living for my pack members.

As we walk up to the front door I can feel Peter stir. I swear he better cool it when we see Shanna. We ring the bell to be greeted by beta Vince.

“Good morning Alpha Scott. We were not expecting you so early. I am sorry Alpha Josh and Shanna were not here to greet you. They were finishing some last minutes things for you meeting this morning.” Vince announces.

“Not a problem beta Vince. We were hoping to touch base with you actually about some things concerning the warrior tournament and the new security system. Would you mind meeting with my beta Chance here.” I reply.

“Of course Alpha Scott. Why don’t you both come in. I just mind linked Alpha Josh or your arrival. Alpha Josh and Shanna should be down shortly. If you would like to wait in the common room.” Vince leads us into the big common room.

As we are walking to the common room I can see several females eyeing me and Chance. This is nothing knew. I pay them no attention as the only women I want to see is Shanna. Once Chance and me take a seat a young lady around nineteen walks up.

“Hello Alpha Scott, would either you or your beta like something to drink well you wait.” The young lady says.

“No thank you. We are fine for now.” I reply well giving her a nod of thanks.

Right as the young women walks out of the room I am hit with Shanna’s amazing scent. Making Peter go crazy.

“They are here!” Peter growls out.

“Peter you can talk with Lila later. Remember we are here on business.” I retort.

Right when I blocked Peter out to concentrate Shanna walks in next to her father Alpha Josh. She looks stunning. She is standing in a tight pair of navy blue ankle length dress slacks and a loose white silk blouse that was tucked in showing off her tiny waist. It showed off her tone legs and big ass. Her blond hair was pulled into a bun showing off her long slim neck. O goddess what I would do just to have my mark on her neck. The pleasure I would give her every day and night. I would worship her amazing body and give her the world. Alpha Josh asks Shanna to take me to the meeting room. Not really paying attention to the others as my eyes are drawn to her beautiful face.

Shanna’s voice rings out bringing me back to our surroundings. “Sure, Scott if you want to follow me and I will take you to the meeting room.” God her voice is like heaven. Before I knew it I was standing right next to her and body automatically wanting to be next to her. I can see her intense gazing taking me in. I can see the desire in her eyes. Which made my d**k twitch in my pants.

I couldn’t help it has I lean towards her in and whisper. “Did you miss me beautiful?” Her cheeks turning pink and her body shivering. It was so hard to not lose control at that moment and just kiss the s**t out of her. I know I must have brought her attention to the fact that she wanted me as much as I wanted her. Making her even more nervous.

When she finally replies I can see she was struggling to reply. “Uhhhh…. I….. Of course I missed my friend.”

Friend huh. That won’t do I will need to make sure she knows that she is way more then a friend to me. I know she wants me I could see it. I know she is feeling something for me. I will need to make the first move. Just not yet. I need to wait for the right time. Soon I will take my shot. My plan that I discussed with Chance in the car it has to work. Only the goddess knows if it is enough. I will just have to wait and see for the moonlight ceremony. All my chips are on that moment we will just see if I win the jackpot.
