We stop at a Middle Eastern café across the street from the flower shop, which I remember being a French-Chinese fusion restaurant in the other timeline. It has a small patio where we can sit outside and keep an eye on things. The waitress, an older woman with a dark bob, seats us at a round table on the patio and hands us menus.
