I followed Elijah downstairs and into the living room. I wasn’t prepared for the scene that greeted me. My girls were standing along the back wall of the room, away from Mathias, Sean and another man. His back visibly tensed when I walked in and I looked at the girls, silently asking what was going on. Each of them deferred their gaze away from mine, which confused me. They had never done that before. As I turned back to face the others, the man slowly turned around and locked eyes with me.
“Hello, Dahlia,” my eyes widen in shock. No! He can’t be here. I closed my eyes and took a few steadying breaths only this time, when I opened my eyes, he was still standing in front of me. “Are you not going to greet your mate?” He said with an air of smugness around him.
