Episode5:The Alpha's Wedding

Did I really intrigue him? Well, I was tired and needed to rest. “ Don't think I'm in love with you, I only need you, so my deceptive cousin doesn't take over the pack." He said as I nodded understandingly. It was late already, and I didn't think it was the right time to talk about my own part of the deal. He took my hand and led me into the mansion. “Elizabeth, come take her to the room I asked you to prepare." He said to a very good-looking maid and headed in the opposite direction. He suddenly stopped in his tracks and turned around. " Goodnight.” He said and started walking away again. Elizabeth seemed very excited about seeing me. “Ma'am come on I will take you to your room. I made it just alright, no specks of dust, everything organized too.” She squeaked as we walked down the great hallway. “I will show you around the chambers tomorrow and prepare you for your marking ceremony the day after tomorrow.” “Marking? What marking?" I asked, confused. " Well , weren't you told? You're going to be tied to the Alpha the day after tomorrow.” She said excitedly as she opened a majestic door revealing an exquisite, well-furnished bedroom. “I'm tired Liz, thank you. I'd just have my bath and go to bed. You can leave for now." I said, throwing myself on the bed. "No ma'am, I was specifically told to give you a shower. I have prepared a bathtub of lavender and chamomile to refresh you.” " Fine!” I grumbled as I took off my clothes and got into the bathtub. After a couple of minutes, I was done with the warm bath and Liz helped me put on a nice nightdress. “Goodnight ma'am." She said, shutting the door behind her. I turned on the bed, finding it extremely difficult to sleep. I stood up and decided to strategize. I'd use the next day to learn about Wolfstead. Then prepare for my marking ceremony. I shouldn't make any mistakes. First,I have to get close to Dimitri and gain his favor, then I'd prove to him, I'm not a pawn by gaining his trust and showing my loyalty. Only after this will I be able to get him to help me. I eventually fell asleep and when I woke up the sun was already up high. Opening my eyes, Elizabeth, Dimitri and his dad were all looking at me. Embarrassment washed over me as I sprang up the bed, falling down to the floor. “Hey, chill out." Dimitri said, helping me up. “See dad, I told you you'd scare her." He said to his dad. " Good morning sir.” I said with my head slightly bent as a sign of respect." She's a nice girl, but she needs polishing.” He said disdainfully. “Father, this is my mate. You don't have to be rude. Please excuse us." Dimitri said in my defense. I was tired and overslept, and I'm pretty sure my hair was all messy and the scar on my face wasn't even helping matters. I truly understand the reasons for his disdainful looks. Dimitri's father, the guards with him and my maid were made to leave the room. I held onto Elizabeth, not wanting her to leave, but she had to. “You have to learn everything you need to learn about being a lady as soon as possible. I don't know where they got you from for goodness’ sake." He said, shaking me violently, causing me to wince in pain. Normally, royal werewolves had healing powers, but I had no idea why the wound on my right arm had refused to heal. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you." He said and pulled up my sleeve. He gasped at the sight of the wound. " This is deep, who did this to you?” He asked, worry written all over him. I chuckled, knowing that it'd piss him off and he'd let me be. " Don't think I have developed feelings for you.” He said and, using his palm, he healed my wound with his powers and walked out before I could even say thank you. Elizabeth came in and helped me prepare for the day. “You'll be meeting some ancient lunas today for their blessing and advice. I'll teach you how to behave while you're with them." Elizabeth said. " After that, I and a wereguard will take you round the wolfstead. Then I'd have the 1523 rules of the pack read to you till you fall asleep.” She said with a smile. I felt horrified that there wasn't much, but I knew it'd be pretty exhausting. Placing the brush she used on my hair, she said; “First let's start with breakfast and then introduce you to the servants and guards in the wolfstead.” I nodded as she led me out. After breakfast with Dimitri, I didn't even have a chance to talk to him. He looked disturbed but I knew he needed space. I met with other Lunas and after all the necessary rites and blessings, I was given a little time to rest in the afternoon. Then the time I dreaded the most came - the time to meet with Dimitri's close family. Elizabeth picked out a beautiful white dress with gold embroidery, a white veil with green and gold embroidery, covering the lower part of my face, and gold jewelry. I was led to a grand courtroom where some of Dimitri's relatives, who were advanced in age, and a few young ones sat waiting for my arrival. Not many people were invited. White hydrangeas filled the air, mingling with the subtle aroma of the lit scented candles lining the aisle, creating a dreamy, almost surreal atmosphere. The red carpet was strewn with freshly picked roses. My hideous scar was covered by my veil. I was led to the ceremonial altar hand in hand with Dimitri, my soon-to-be husband. I wasn't supposed to get marked today. I was confused. Elizabeth, sensing my confusion, leaned in and whispered something to me. I nodded, took a deep breath and walked down the red carpet to where Dimitri stood. Handing out his left hand and his right behind him, he took mine. "Do you, Mister Dimitri, take Miss Amelia to be your lawfully wedded wife?" the priest asked. "I do." He turned to me and asked me the same thing, to which I replied, "Yes, I do." "If anyone is against this marriage, please stand up," he turned to the crowd. “In the absence of objections, you may now..." "I object…"
