Jasmine's POV I was so scared. Uncle Tom and Aunt Sarah pulled me through a new place I didn't know. We walked for a long time. My feet hurt, and my pregnancy made it hard to move fast. "Please," I said, "Why are you doing this? I thought you cared about me." Uncle Tom didn't look at me. "Be quiet and keep moving," he said. I felt tears in my eyes. "But I'm pregnant. What about my baby? I don't want to die." Aunt Sarah laughed, but it wasn't a nice laugh. "Oh, Jasmine. No one said anything about dying. Just walk." We kept going. The trees got thicker, and it was harder to see where we were going. I was tired and scared, but they made me keep moving. "Remember when you helped me with my homework?" I asked.
