Mason's POV I sat by Jasmine's bedside, holding her hand tightly. The room was quiet except for the steady beep of the heart monitor and Jasmine's shallow breathing. My mother sat on the other side of the bed, her face etched with worry. "How long has she been like this?" I asked, breaking the silence. I fought the urge not play doctor right now. I'd be no good in this mental state. I felt like my heart had been ripped out of my chest. My mother sighed. "She collapsed early this morning.
