Jasmine's POV:
I took a deep breath as I approached the guest quarters where Alexander was staying. My mind was racing, trying to figure out the best way to break the news to him. It wasn't going to be easy. Knocking on the door, I heard Alexander's voice call out, "Come in."
I entered the room to find him pacing back and forth, worry etched on his face. When he saw me, he stopped, relief and anxiety in his eyes. "Jasmine," he said, "have they made a decision?"
I shook my head, trying to keep my voice gentle. "Not yet, Alexander. I'm here to let you know that the royal family needs more time to consider your request."
Alexander's face fell, disappointment clear in his expression. "More time? Jasmine, my pack is in danger. We don't have the luxury of time."
