Enid's eyes widened in complete confusion.
The material under it appeared to be velvet. She had never liked that texture.
She was no longer bandaged, but that didn't mean she could see anything in particular beyond three feet from her.
She was in the dark, the only thing she could make out a bit was the light that filtered through a small space in what seemed to be a window.
She didn't hear any noise other than her breathing.
She was scared, the wolf within her was hiding, crying in a corner, and she couldn't believe that they had seriously sold it. They had sold the possibility of choosing the one she was destined to be intimate with.
She didn't want any alpha near her that she didn't have to do with her true Moon.
"Get me out of here... Please" she begged with a broken voice, tired of being in that lonely place.
"Why are you begging? All omegas are the same, none of them have enough courage" spoke a man she didn't know.
As soon as her wolf could sense that she was an alpha from the smell that it emanated, which was very woody and strong, she felt even sadder.
Something inside her didn't feel entirely disappointed, and she didn't understand why.
"I beg because this is unfair," she defended, though she didn't raise her voice.
"Maybe you only show your weakness. The fact that you're here is absurd" this man's voice said again, who closed the curtains so that the light penetrated even more into the room.
Enid realized that this seemed to be a basement, but not like any other.
This one was nicely decorated, it looked like some kind of playroom. However, it had windows that let light in on top of only one wall.
The lights were also present when turned on.
She had to blink a few times to keep from affecting her sight in the light.
For a moment she thought that by continuing in that cage they were going to torture her, but it didn't seem to be the case for her.
"I'm not trying to show weakness, but as you can understand, I was brought here against my will," she said, in a colder tone than before.
"Tomorrow we'll make the official announcement, so I don't want you to look like a rag."
"Ratty?! I don't even know whose clothes these are!" she commented, covering her body when she realized that a large part of her body was exposed, as it seemed that that was her intention.
"Don't talk to me like that. I forbid it" said this man, using his commanding voice.
Enid immediately went very still. She wasn't used to any alpha using that kind of voice with her.
"Can I at least know who you are?" she said in a low tone because she was afraid after that reaction.
"Who do you think I am?" asked the man with some use of sarcasm.
"I only know that they sold me to the crown... You are part of them, right?"
"It could be said that you belong to me from today" this man informed him, with the coldest air that he had seen anyone have. It was almost absurd.
"I am not an object. I cannot belong to anyone."
"Of course, you can. That's what you're made for, omega."
"I will never belong to anyone, much less yours" the omega spoke with conviction.
"How sad, because you're still going to have to give me an heir."
With that said, the man in the French blue suit left the room, slamming the door shut.
Enid felt the hot, heavy tears well up in her eyes and fall down her cheeks.
She couldn't contain the enormous sadness of her now having a different life, much more than when she had always dreamed of being an independent werewolf.
She hit one of the golden bars with her righthand several times, as she felt that her life was now a mess.
After a while, she heard the door open again. This time it was a service girl.
She helped her get out of that cell and take a bath with all the comforts.
She then took her to what would be her room, which was perfectly decorated.
She found him a dress that reached her knees. It was white with pearls at the neckline, which went in a straight line from her shoulders to her chest.
The girl also combed her hair with dedication until her golden hair fell over her shoulders gracefully and beautifully.
The part of her makeup was important because she had to cover all the sadness that she implied when someone looked at her.
She ended up looking very natural and perfect, like she was a porcelain doll.
Her footwear consisted of cream-colored low heels.
It was the ideal moment to be able to accompany the Alpha King on his visit to the golf club along with the other millionaires and important people of the pack.
Enid didn't want to say a single word.
When the man finally saw her, it seemed he didn't pay much attention to her, as he was more occupied with seeing himself in the full-length mirror at the mansion's entrance.
"Don't open your mouth unless I say so. You are not allowed to speak to any alpha other than me, much less when there has been no announcement of engagement", he warned her, looking back at her through the mirror.
"It's not like she wants to talk to anyone either" she mentioned, downplaying the situation.
He was the first to leave the mansion, and she had to keep up with him quickly to keep track of him.
"May I know where we are going?" he wanted to know her since she was confused.
"Didn't they already tell you? I'll go to dinner at the golf club. You'll just accompany me. Don't think that that entitles you to anything", the man continued with his bad vibes as he got into the car with tinted windows.
The driver got out to open the door for Enid and kindly allowed her inside.
The road to the golf club was not easy. It consisted of many intense climbs.
Once they arrived, it was the same process. She, instead of her fiancée, looked like her pet or her servant.
Once this man met with the other influencers, they all turned their gaze to the woman next to her.
"Who is she?" asked one of them.
"She's coming with me. They just have to know" he commented, with a certain reproachful tone.
Nobody said anything else.
Enid was already fed up with the situation.
How would she survive with that ogre?
