He turned around slowly and stared between Sandra and his wife “I misused a huge sum of money in Mr Sterling's company…and this is the way I want to repay him” “His son, getting married to me?!”. Sandra snapped “Yes, I would have paid back but what I lost was too huge, I’m so relieved he accepted my offer” “You should be relieved I accepted to marry him”. She said in a rather mocking tone “As if you have a choice, if you had struggled too much, there is always Sophie at the side bench”. Both parents laughed. Sandra’s frowned as she stormed upstairs Sophie was on her bed, eyes fixed on the ceiling fan, it was making her feel dizzy all of a sudden. She groaned, rolled to her left side to avoid throwing up in her mouth “Sandra is getting married to Mr Charles' son”. She laughed darkly “At least she won’t have to work for anything, the kind of life she always dreamed of. Sometimes I wonder how we’re even related”. She said as she grabbed a piece of velvet fabric and cut into it with scissors. Sophie loved sewing since she was little, that’s why she went to a fashion designing university. There was a light knock on her door “Mom come in”…“Sandra, when did you start knocking before entering my room?” She wore a confused look “I didn’t knock on your door, anyway I came here to tell you something”she wore a grin on her face Sophie acted as if she didn’t already know what she wanted to say “What’s that?”. Her eyes still fixed on the fabric “I’m getting married to a billionaires son” “Oh wow I’m so happy for you”. With no emotions attached to her voice she sounded like a stoic person “You don’t sound happy for me, are you jealous?”. She laughed She breathed heavily and looked at her “Do I sound jealous?” “Whatever, get your lazy butt to the dining, we are having breakfast” “At least a lazy butt is better than a stinking one!”. Sophie yelled as Sandra left “every freaking time she leaves my door open, gosh, urghh”. “Good morning mom and dad” “Morning, where is Sandra?” “I saw her coming out of her room”. Sophie said as she sat down “San..” “No need to shout I’m here already” She sat down and the first thing they talked about was Sandra’s wedding “I’ll invite my whole friends. Let them see I hit the jackpot, dad how come you’ve worked for him all this while and you’ve never met his son?” “How will I know?”. He shrugged “Hmm” Sophie just ate her food not uttering a word, not that they even care “You’re not saying anything, aren’t you happy for your big sister?”. Martha said darting her eyes at Sophie “She told me when I was in my room, and plus I have nothing to add” “Well, you are going to see him tomorrow”. Mr harry announced “Oh my gosh”. Sandra squealed in joy Sophie rolled her eyes so much she started having a headache. “Another episode of keeping up with Sandra the self absorbed”. She thought to herself “He invited us over for dinner”. The dad added. Sandra had a wide smile on her face “He’s already treating us like family”. Martha said while eating her food “Gerald!”. His father yelled from the balcony clutching his hands on his silver cane. Gerald turned in a rather slow manner “You haven’t given me an answer yet” “I thought I didn’t have options” “Smart boy, they are coming over for dinner today”. Gerald’s jaw tightened “What the fu..”. He rubbed his forehead with his hands “So fast, just like that?” “You don’t know who your father is?”. He said with a smug on his face “How did things get to this point”. Gerald muttered “Make sure to come back home quickly”. He gave a thumbs up and made his way to his car “Today is already starting off so bad”. He grabbed a bottle of water beside him and gulped everything at once “I saw everything, don’t worry we stick to the plan” “How will I find someone I know nothing about, heck I don’t even know her name” “We’ll figure that out as well”. Micheal said still maintaining focus on the road “I need to get myself a new dress”. Sandra said, waltzing around the living room. Sophie didn’t pay attention to her, her hands were still hurting from yesterday “Wait, hold on, didn’t you buy new clothes yesterday?”. Sophie said leaning beside their front door “Sooo, I have to get one that screams sophisticated young and beautiful sexy lady” “You’re neither of those things”. Sophie said under her breath “What did you say?” “I said suit yourself, but you know, I could stitch a gown for you?” She huffed “As if, does your cheap rags” “They aren’t cheap”. She folded her hands “Just not overly expensive like the other ones you buy” “I’m not still wearing any of your shaggy designs” “My designs are unique and beautiful you stuck up sadist” “Oh boo, I’m far from a sadist”. She said as she grabbed her car keys from her purse, then gave Sophie a knowing look “I have things to do, I’m not coming along” “You have to” “My hands still hurt from yesterday” “Screw you”. She slammed the door behind her Sophie went up stairs and with the sound of a roaring engine she knew that Sandra was going without her which made a little smile escape her face “Finally I can finish this dress I’m working on” she jumped past a pile of fabrics “I really need to clean this mess up”. She suddenly recalled Sandra talking trash about her work “She has no idea what she’s saying, that premature being, I’ll open a business for myself and with hard work and dedication I’ll make it to the top”. She said folding what looks like a half done dress with care, her fingers more precise, she finally decided to clean her room. “Wait, if they are going for dinner it means I’m going as well”. She said while picking up pins from the floor “Oh, how I wish one of these pins could prick Sandra right under her foot She went to her closet and opened another section where beautiful gowns, skirts, trousers and other clothings shimmered and sparkled, each having their own unique design. A closet of her glamorous creations “I have a whole lot to choose from and arrogant Sandra didn’t want to wear any of them, her loss not mine”. She shuffled her hands through the closet trying to curate a look for herself “Now that no one is around I can try some of the clothes out in peace” She brought out a silver gown to try on. Suddenly there was a knock on the front door. Her hands froze.
